Hello friends! Have you seen Simon Says Stamp August’16 Card Kit? It is filled with beautiful stars and gorgeous constellations! I’d say its a very dreamy kit and ideal to practice making Galaxy backgrounds.

The sentiments included in the stamp set in the kit are great too, for my card I first stamped Dreaming Of You and also added Though We’re Far Apart, We’re Sleeping Under The Same Stars. So romantic! While sentiments were stamped in black ink, I used Steel Blue to stamp constellations.

This month kit also includes a couple sheets of resist paper which is fabulous because you can make it whatever color you want. Here I used Distress Chipped Sapphire (included in the kit) and added color to the script paper you see at the top of the card and also blended some of that blue onto the right bottom corner.

While this card was created using only kit items, I wanted to add a pop of gold so I heat embossed several stars in Antique Gold embossing powder onto vellum and cut them out with my scissors, I prefer embossing on vellum as its easier to cut out and very forgiving too, the cut lines aren’t as visible there.

The blue stripe patterned paper you see on the left side of the card is actually a fraction of the polka dot paper, same one used to create a banner for this project.
