Hello friends! Let me start by saying it’s hot! It is very hot down here in Phoenix. While I love the heat and Summer is usually my favorite time of year I am actually looking forward to Fall and cooler temperatures. But on the plus side, while it is so hot and I can’t bear to be outside for long I have plenty of stamping, coloring and crafty time in general and that means more cards and more projects here on the blog.
Today I have two fruity cards to share created using Simon’s Artsy Fruits stamp set.

CARD DETAILS
I started working on these by stamping quick test patterns onto printer paper. After some trial and error I came up with the patterns I liked and transferred them onto white card fronts. I used Simon’s Black, Sunshine, Green Apple, Catkin and Brown inks.
I had a blast stamping these mainly due to the fact that this stamp set can be classified as “build your own fruit” and when it comes to anything “build your own” I am an instant fan.
After my stamping was done, I foam mounted my panels onto A2 top folding card bases.
To create sentiments for these I stamped and die-cut Love and also heat embossed sub sentiments in white embossing powder onto black cardstock. I went with “Love You to Pieces” and “So in Love With You”.
To help the die cut “love” stand out on my cards I also die-cut identical “love” out of black cardstock, adhered it from the back and offset slightly.
Lastly, I added a ridiculous amount of black enamel dots using Nuvo liquid drops. I add mine directly onto the card and just make sure to set the finished project aside and not cover it with anything for at least an hour or two.
I also recently got a bunch of new to me Nudo drops colors so you’ll be seeing me use these a lot more often in my future projects.
Have fun stamping!

PIN THIS PROJECT
Are you on Pinterest? I’d love for you to pin this project if you like it. Thank you!
Yana, I love how these fruit stamps look as a background yet are still the focal images. You have a real eye for such things. Beautifully done on both cards!
These are so gorgeous Yana! Love how you used the seeds as filler! Your brain is a Wonderland!
Cute cards! Soon the monsoon season will start (hopefully) when the temps come down a bit and some humidity and rain move in. It takes a few years for the body to adapt to a desert summer. I’m from Boston (living in Tucson). Been here since 2002. Easier, but still not fun. 110 plus is just plain hot! Temps usually come down to something reasonable by the end of Sept/beginning of Oct. Hang in there!!!
Very nice and fresh cards!!
Beautifully stamped, and love these “retro” style colours 🙂
I love the design and color scheme on these cards–so fresh and pretty.
It’s also been quite hot in N Calif;unfortunately, I find it hard to create in the heat, even when it’s cool inside.
Yana, once again you have come up with beautiful ideas and colors. I finally ordered both fruit stamp sets from SSS last night with their sale based on cards you had done! And now these new ones, I can’t wait for my order to come! This is Sherri from Phoenix. We have emailed before and I live far north near you. I know, it is this time of year when we say, why do we stay here??! (after 68 years) but then we remember the other 9 months and know that is why we stay.Hang in there! Thanks for all of your inspiration.
These cards are delightful, Yana, perfect for your hot weather these days. The section of clear space above the fill of the background with these stamps draws the eye right to the fruit. I like that. Thanks for sharing these cards.
Very nice Yana! Such lovely colors & placement of the fruit.
Beautiful.
What, no video? (giggle) I love your videos! Beautiful way to use fruit for a card, Yana. Take care.
