Hello, friends! One of the stamp & die sets that really caught my eye in Simon’s latest Make Magic release is Petal Power. Oh my! This set is very simple, even basic, but it packs such a punch!

CARD DETAILS
I thought about a different way I could use the Petal Power set – why not turn the flower leaf die cuts into abstract leaves and create faux branches. I die-cut a bunch of leaves from colored cardstock, vellum, and gold mirror paper. I trimmed some in half to make two-tone leaves and used those images to build a background. It was so easy! Yet very addictive. I also die-cut several circles and added those over the leaves looking like berries.
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS:
- Die-cut leaves in 2 sizes from various colors of cardstock (Soft Navy, Sea Glass, Audrey Blue, Midnight Green), vellum, and gold mirror cardstock.
- Cut some leaves in half using a paper trimmer.
- Stamp pattern onto some of the remaining leaves in watermark ink.
- Adhere half leaves onto full leaves, bend slightly down the center.
- Adhere leaves onto Soft Navy background panel using a mix of foam adhesive and glue.
- Die-cut circles from the gold mirror and Cotton Candy cardstock, adhere over the leaves.
- Stamp and heat emboss Birthday sentiment in black ink and clear embossing powder, cut out using a coordinating die. Die-cut 4 additional blank layers from white cardstock, stack together using glue, adhere onto the card.
- Embellish card with gold gems.
