Hello, friends and welcome back for another “It’s STAMPtember!” post! This time I am sharing a DIY stamped pattern card using Cathy Z exclusive stamp set called Coolest Yulest.
This set features bold graphic designs that are perfect for stamping beautiful one layer cards. Of course you can also use these images to create little scenes, but since I love to create my own stamped pattern (or faux patterned papers) this is what I went with when I was making my project.

CARD DETAILS
I started working on this project by picking out images I wanted to use to create my pattern. I didn’t use every image from my set, for instance I only used one of the ornaments and not all 3 of them. Next, I created my initial arrangement and picked out several colors of ink.
Whenever stamping patterns like this it is best to pick one or two bright/bold colors and one or two softer colors; you don’t to stamp every image using a bright red or bright green as in the end your pattern might become too busy.
I went with Watermelon, Willow, Green Apple, Lake Shores and Fog ink colors from Simon. I also used black to stamp “wishing you a” and “christmas” as I initially planned that to be the main sentiment for my card.
I stamped my images one by one using a mini MISTI and double stamped everything for perfect ink coverage. While I started stamping my pattern by having the images in the correct orientation (upright), I later rotated many of them 90 and 180 degrees to best fill in the space I had left on my card front. This, by the way, was stamped directly onto an A2 side folding card base.
To create a sentiment that would stand out I heat embossed “Season’s Greetings” 3 times onto Simon’s Schoolhouse Red cardstock in white embossing powder, trimmed sentiments into skinny strips and foam mounted onto my card. Lastly, I added several droplets using Nuvo Drops in Morning Dew.

Yana, I always love your creative usage of small (or large) stamps for backgrounds. It always looks like cool patterned paper no matter what you use. This card is no exception. I love Cathy’s designs and you showcased this set to the max. Well done as always!
Great stamped background!!
Very beautiful. I love all the backgrounds you create.
I thought for sure that was patterned paper until I read your post. Love your graphic, modern card.
