Today’s STAMPtember collaboration is with Altenew, they have a gorgeous From the Rose Bush stamp set. Altenew is a near and dear company to me as I used to be on their design team for several years. Altenew was one of the first companies to bring layering stamps into the stamping world and they always did it so well with stunning floral designs. Today’s stamp is no exception – it is a beautiful layering rose and leaf.

ALTENEW – FROM THE ROSE BUSH
Simon’s new Pawsitively Saturated inks work perfectly well for stamping layering images such as this rose. They give an absolutely perfect impression and they do not stain stamps, something that is rather important when working with layering stamp sets. I went with a peach and green color combination and stamped 4 roses as well as 8 leaf clusters to create a floral pattern for an A2 card.
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS:
- Stamp roses and leaves:
- Roses: Peachy, Grapefruit, Mandarin. I used Lipstick Red for the 4th layer.
- Leaves: Celery, Limelicious, Pearfection.
- Use VersaFine Onyx Black for the black outline
- Fussy cut the images right up to the edge skipping a white border you usually see on die-cuts. This allows using a black cardstock panel for the background of my card.
- Foam mounted the florals creating a pattern.
- Stamp the sentiment, Happy Birthday, in VersaFine Onyx Black onto white cardstock and heat emboss it in Clear Embossing Powder. Cut the sentiment out using a banner die and foam mount onto the card using a double layer of foam adhesive (single layer where it overlapped the rose).
- Embellish the card with Spellbinders Crystal Mix gems.
