Hi everyone! I’m back with another card using January 2015 Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp.

The card I’m sharing today was actually the first one I made using this kit. And it was also the first time I used the Perfect Pearls powder. I’ve never used that product before and to be honest I had no idea what to do with it. But, thankfully, there are LOTS of great video instructions online for newbies like me, lol!

Anyhow, practice makes perfect, right? Now I know how NOT to apply the powder and I’m feeling more confident about using it in the future.

To create this card I started with a tag – die cut it using a new die from Simon and stamped the Thanks Snow and the border using white pigment ink from the kit and brushed the purple powder on top to give it some color. I’m not sure if that was the right thing to do or not (stamping with pigment ink), but like I said – I was using the product for the first time.

I heat embossed the For Being Wonderful You using white embossing powder and also stamped the word much. I also die cut another tag and mounted both onto a piece of patterned paper trimmed to about 4 by 5 1/4″. I did add some stitching using white thread to frame everything together.

So what do you think? Not bad for the first time? I have no idea why I never bought any of the Perfect Pearls powders before, I know I’ve been meaning to buy white, but it just never made it to my shopping cart I guess.

  1. I started using Perfect Pearls years ago with polymer clay and then realized they also look beautiful on cards. Tim Holtz had some great videos a few years ago with Perfect Pearl “resist” technique.
