VIDEO TUTORIAL
As always, I filmed a video tutorial showing how to create this project from start to finish. I’m hoping you’ll enjoy it. Watch it below or on my Youtube channel.

CARD DETAILS – KIT ONLY
I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do with my kit, how I wanted to use it, so I decided to do what I always do in cases like this – stamp a background design or pattern. I picked a sentiment stamp for the center of my panel and next arranged images of dandelions around it coming in from the edges of the card framing the sentiment so to speak.
I used alcohol marker friendly ink and stamped all images onto white paper. Next, I colored them quickly using Copic markers (G99, G94 and G03; Y35 and Y17; R24, R27 and R39; also C7 and B00). Once coloring was done I adhered this panel onto an A2 white side folding card base and embellished it using sequins from the Champagne sequin mix from Hero Arts.
CARDS DETAILS – KIT ADD ONS
The next two cards both use the main kit as well as an add-on background stamp – Star Light Star Bright and ombre stamping technique.
I love to use my Hero Arts ombre inks for stamping Color Layering images, the ombre ink always gives some additional interest to the image, but I also love the look of ombre on my background. You can’t quite use an ombre ink pad to stamp a full A2 card background, but you can use regular ink pads in that ombre manner.
I picked 3 blue ink pads to ink up a blue ombre background for my card – Navy, Summer Sky and Pool. You basically just need 3 ink pads, a light, medium and dark and use them to ink up section of the background stamp overlapping each other. Overlapping is the here as when you overlap you soften that harsh line that you will otherwise have in-between the two colors. So you just need to do that little dance you usually do using your ombre ink pads.
To turn my background into a card I stamped a simple sentiment and added a beautiful image of a fairy.
I stamped the fairy in Copic marker friendly ink and once again used my alcohol markers to color it. I didn’t use traditional colors, but instead used blues, especially blue marker for her hair to make her look even more whimsical. Here I used B99, B34, B21, B00 and B000 as well as E00 for her skin. I die cut this image out using a coordinating die and just foam mounted onto my card next to the stamped sentiment. To add some sparkle I use my Tonic Studios shimmer pen and added some shimmer to her dress, wand, hair and wings as well as to the background around her wand.
For the purple card I used the same approach, just different colors – I went with Grape Juice, Orchid and Soft Purple. To turn these cards into New Year projects I added “Happy New Year” sentiment from the Peace, Love & Joy stamp set.

Beautiful cards! I like your technique to make the background instead of blending the colors with an ink blender.
I like what you do when you’re not sure (make a background, add a sentiment) – what you did with the December kit is wonderful. I absolutely love the ombre new years cards, especially the shades of purple.

I love that you explained your approach to the first card starting with simply creating the background with all of the stamps. That’s something I’ll have to keep in mind next time I get stuck with creating a card!

Thank you for sharing and your creativity. I love your blended background… also the one layer background with the dandelions is very stunning. I would love to have these adorable fairies as I don’t have one fairy stamp and Hero Arts kits are sooo beautiful as always… and they still offer red rubber stamps and are a green company. Thank you again!
I love all the different colored backgrounds. My favorite is the one with the dandelion background and those cute little ladybugs.
