Hello all and thank you for stopping by today to help celebrate the launch of October My Monthly Hero Kit from Hero Arts (more about the kit and blog hop below).
We are entering the Holiday Season and crazy holiday cardmaking time and this kit is simply perfect for this! Beautiful snow globes, city scapes, adorable little critters – the list can go on an on! I am always a fan of sets with lots of small elements that I can use to “build” whatever I want. This kit is a definite winner in my book. If you are like me – you’ll love it too!
Like these projects? Pin them and save for later!
I paired this month kit with a few other products from Hero Arts to create lots of quick and easy snow globe cards to send to friends this Holiday season. If you’ve been a subscriber of mine for a long time you might remember this video where I shared a simple way to create faux ink blended background using a stamp and ombre ink pad.
I went back to this idea and concept and combined it with the snow globes for a unique look. I started by stamping a bunch of backgrounds using two stamps – Winter Tree Scene and Snowy Scene and various colors of ombre ink from Hero Arts (I’m linking to all colors I used below). I also die cut a snow globe card front for each out of white or fog cardstock.
I knew I wanted to add a little Christmas tree, a lamp post and a bench to each of my cards, so I stamped a number of those using coordinating colors of ink. For the lamp posts and benches I used either brown ombre or black ombre.
I also used one of Hero Arts older stamp sets, Winter Scene, and stamped a tree, a house and a deer to also use on my projects.
I turned only one of those cards into a shaker as shakers are a bit time consuming to make and I didn’t have a lot of time to make these cards. All other projects and simple window cards – some open up so that the stamped ombre background is on the inside, others have everything clustered on the front of the card.
I also used a few other coordinating dies to create snow globe-like shapes for my cards. A jar from the Winter Scene stamp set came in very handy and added a fun twist to the same card idea:
Here’s another card featuring the jar die, this time I used it not to create a window, but as a separate element to house a little scene:
I kept my cards very simple – I only added a bit of red and white bakers twine to the lamp post to imitate a holiday wreath. You can also add glitter using a glitter pen, adhere sequins and gems. The sky’s the limit when it comes to creating snow globes on paper using stamps!

A FEW OTHER CARD IDEAS
Before I go, I wanted to share a few other card ideas I have on my blog using similar stamps, click the image to go that blog post:
Oh my goodness. These cards are so beautiful! I adore all those lovely colors!
ALL of your color combinations are fantastic! What great cards.
Amazing scenes you created. Love the different colors for each card. TFS
Very cute card. I love the snow globe. I wish they would bring it back even if they don’t use anything else. I really wanted the globe.
These cards look awesome! The background stamp is really nice, might have to buy it.

Your cards are truly top notch…love the different colors used and the layered cards….Great ideas!!!
Awesome cards every one of them. Love all the colors you chose and the layouts, great job
Thanks for the hint about using ombre inks for backgrounds.I struggle with ink blending too. The cards are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing so many disigns with us.
Great cards! This kit is wonderful.
I love all the winter scenes and snowglobe scenes you have created – just beautiful! Great kit from Hero Arts this month!
I like the ombre ink background.
Wow! So many amazing cards! I love your use of colors and incorporation of older sets!
Oh Yana! What wonderful snow globe/window cards! I love your ombré backgrounds and all the sweet details. TY!
Your cards are so pretty! I love snow globes and yours are so pretty! I have to make a snow globe and either make a shaker card or one like yours even if I don’t win the set. I have a snow globe stamp but it’s not a plain snow globe it has penguins in it. I would like a plain snow globe so I could do what I liked inside. You did a really nice job.
I have almost all the hombre ink pads. I love the idea of them, but have trouble some of them the 3 colors of ink have blended together in the pads. Maybe I am storing them wrong? I store them flat horizontally flat like they are sitting on the table.
You’re amazing. Those cards are beyond beautiful.
