Hero Arts | I’ll Be Home For Christmas

Hello friends! I have a pile of Hero Arts 2016 Holiday stamp sitting on my desk and I simply can’t help it – my hands just keep reaching for these goodies to make Holiday cards! I’ve made a few cards for their catalog and I plan to share those on my blog in the coming weeks along with a few new cards I’ve been making, here’s a link to the first one I already shared in case you’d like to check it out.

SIMPLE STAMPED HOLIDAY CARD

This is a very simple card that requires little supplies and just some basic watercoloring. I started working on this project by stamping a town house from It’s Christmastime set and a sentiment – I’ll Be Home For Christmas, You Can Plan On Me from Warm & Cozy stamp set in Hero Arts Intense Black ink onto watercolor paper.

I also stamped these adorable mittens from the S’Mitten Stamp & Cut set (there is a matching die for this image, but I didn’t have it, so I cut it out with my scissors). And finally I stamped BRRRR, also from the S’Mitten set. All images were watercolored with distress ink and I used a few different colors (I’m listing all colors below).

I trimmed my main watercolor panel down slightly and also cut another panel, a bit larger, out of gold glitter paper. I used foam adhesive and mounted my watercolor panel onto the glitter one, adhered mittens and foam mounted the BRRRR.

For the card base I went with light gray cardstock and I used Unicorn White ink pad and several snowflake images from the S’Mitten set and stamped them onto the card base going diagonally for some movement on this card. Once that was done I adhered my cluster onto the card base by using adhesive on the back of my sticky-back glitter paper.

I didn’t add any sequins or drops to this card as I felt it looked pretty good without them. I am very happy with the way this card turned out and I think its a great one to send to your parents before the Holiday season to let them know you’ll be home for Christmas.
