Hello friends! I wanted to share a closer look at Hero Arts Koi Fish color layering stamp set and card. I taught this card (along with the Rooster) at Hero Arts Make & Takes at the Creativation show last month, a lot of people enjoyed making both projects so I really wanted to share them here with those of you could couldn’t make it to the show.

CARD DETAILS
This is one of those color layering stamping projects where I didn’t have enough ink colors to stamp the perfect image so I skipped one of the layers (I did a similar thing here where I skipped a base layer of the orchid). I wanted to use two very similar shades of gray and I didn’t have that one perfect shade on hand, so I ended up not stamping entire layer all together.
I used Silver pigment ink for the second fish layer and Butter to Orange ombre dye ink to stamp the top detail layer. The face was stamped using a mix of orange and black. Hero Arts does have a recommended ink color set for this stamp set that includes Soft Vanilla, Soft Granite, Neon Orange and Charcoal inks.
I also used Soft Pool and Tide pool to stamp the lily pads as well as lightest and darkest colors from the yellow ombre pad to stamp the lilies.
My sentiment, Wishing You Harmony, was heat embossed in white onto a strip of Sea Glass cardstock. It shows much better in real life, it appears a bit too white on photos (blends in too much with the paper I used).

Stunning card! Love colors you used. I’d never thought of combining these together. Great trick with skipping one layer, fish looks finished and beautiful despite this.
