Hello everyone and thank you so much for stopping by to help celebrate Hero Arts 2017 Catalog Release! I’ll share more about this release, blog hop and giveaway below.
One of my favorite stamp sets from this release is the Color Layering Rooster. I love love love all of Hero Arts Color Layering sets (I have already shared a video using a gorgeous Peacock set here), but the Rooster one ended up being a favorite. I think this set is just too clever and considering it’s a year of the rooster – it is a must have!

CARD DETAILS
Did I mention I also love to use clever stamp sets like this Color Layering Rooster? The images are well designed and layer on top of each other so well to create a perfectly handsome bird and also the messages included in this set are too funny! If you enjoy to make or receive punny cards – this set if for you!
Aside from the main image, rooster, there are also two color layering chick images one can stamp to complete the scene. I used a wheat image along with little chickies to stamp a background pattern to replace patterned paper for this card. I went with Butter Bar and Dark Quartz to stamp these.
I also used Butter Bar, Pale Tomato and Royal Red to stamp the rooster, but the bird can be stamped using other colors too. Recommended Hero Arts colors are Red Royal, Navy, Pumpkin Pie and Butter Bar (all included in a Rooster Layering Ink Cubes).
Hero Arts also offers a coordinating die for this image and you if you prefer to get all pieces together, there’s a stamp and die combo set, too:

Love your rooster and the vibrant colors.
Leave it to Yana and Hero Arts to make a rooster look pretty. I hadn’t noticed the roo-star part of the sentiments. I thought the cocky one was funny!
Great card, I like the colors on the rooster. Thanks for sharing.
Love the rooster! Your card is fab! I think he’d look wonderful in yellow, turquoise, and a hint of purple. No clue how the combination would turn out though! LOL
the rooster is fantastic.
A friend has her kitchen in roosters – have
to get this stamp to use for cards for her.
Maybe even make up a mixed-media project.
thanks for sharing and fueling the ideas.
The rooster stamp set is another case of I never thought I’d want it, now I NEED it – Hero Arts are so good at making stamp set like that! LOVE this card! The rooster image is really beautiful and I love the background you made! The chicks are too adorable 😀
From personal experience, I don’t like roosters–but yours is really colorful. Since it is only paper, I could learn to love this one.
Love the colors you picked for your rooster! I’m going to have to get this set because a friend is in charge if a fowl rescue and always needs thank you cards for donations.
Oh,that rooster is so darned cute! I love the colours you’ve used, and the quirky sentiment really tops it off, well done!
I cannot believe there is a rooster stamp! You did a fantastic job with it! I use to have 19 different roosters and they were beautiful! I am going to have to get this stamp and pull out all my rooster pictures to get the colors right…this is going to be fun!
Beautiful colors and details!
Wow! That rooster is so realistic. I have a rooster stamp that takes me forever to color to get him to look realistic. I just may have to consider the purchase of this set.
He’s gorgeous!
I love how you did the background too.
The chicks in the backgroud are cute, and the rooster looks so lifelike!
Wow!!!! I love that rooster and the background with the little chicks is adorable!
BEAUTIFUL! I love the rooster.
Happy New Year of the Rooster! Great card.
Lovely card. I like all the multi-step stamp sets. They give amazing results easily.
Oh! Such a fun card! Love this rooster set, I think it’s very unique.
I really enjoy your clean and simple cards. I never would have thought a rooster would make a great design element! Thanks for the ideas and inspiration.
I never knew I needed a rooster stamp….but your fabulous card has convinced me…the background is so clever!
Stunning colourful card!!!
Love the layering rooster. Your colors are perfect. Thanks
LOVE this card! The background is so perfect and love that you used the smaller stamps to create it. The rooster color combo is perfect – definitely going to try these 3 colors together using some stamps I already own – thanks for the inspiration!
What a great card. Love the rooster stamp.
Awesome colors on the rooster!
Your card uses my favorite color in the whole wide world, yellow and then you pair it with another color that goes so well with it, orange. What a handsome looking rooster! When my niece and nephew were little, they loved to go into the animal barns at county fairs. I like animals but not the smell so I didn’t go in very often but I did go into the chicken barn a few times. I never realized how many different colors of chickens there were, kind of like the one you put on your card. You are the first one to use that stamp and I like it but I am sure the color has a lot to do with it. Great job! Thank you for giving us the chance to win something and I hope I do!
That is a great card, and a wonderful set, especially for the year of the Rooster!
Just lvoe this!
Beautiful rooster, I like the punny roo star!
what a magnificent and vibrant looking rooster-love it!
Love the card and rooster set!
I liked how you layered the rooster over the chick background. Beautiful colors and beautiful card.
