Hello, friends! How’s your week going? I hope well! Mine is busy as always, lots of happy mail here lately, lots of fun new products and very little time to play with all of them.
Today I have a fun video tutorial to share with you featuring stencils, dry embossing and bokeh effect! Fun, fun, fun! I’m using products from the new Falling For You release from Simon Says Stamp.
Its rather hard to see white dry embossed bokeh effect on white, so here are a few close up photos – you can see it a bit better here:
The stamped images are from the Baby Party Animals stamp set – I stamped all of them in Black Memento ink and colored using Copic markers. I did a very quick and very basic coloring. I really hate to stress over this, so I usually color the way I like (and the way I can, lol).
There are matching dies for the Piggy, but I don’t have any, so I fussy cut those images out and used foam dots to add to my card.
For the background I used the Simon Says Stamp Bokeh Lights stencils. I simply dry embossed each (starting with the one with the large dots) on a piece pf cardstock and ended up having a fun embossed or I guess I should say textured bokeh look.
You can watch me create this card and explain everything in detail on video below or on my Youtube channel:
Like this video? Please give it a thumbs up, drop me a comment and maybe share with a crafty friend. Its much appreciated!
Do you ever use your stencils like this? I find the dry embossing technique to be a fun and quick way to add texture and dimension to a project. And if you like you can always ink over the embossed areas to emphasize the embossing even more.
P.S. I’ve shared another Bokeh Effect video on my blog and Youtube channel last year using stamps and inks, you can check it out here.
