Hello! Today I have something very special to share with all of you and I also have a giveaway to thank you for being my loyal subscribers and viewers. There are actually 3 giveaways sponsored by Colorado Craft Company.

Colorado Craft Company is a newer stamp company. I have shared a video and several projects with their products back in July 2019 and I had an absolute blast creating with their stamps. What I love most about their designs is their huge size. The images, especially in their Big & Bold line, are very large and easily take center stage on an A2 card and can readily be used on larger projects.

I have 4 cards to share with you all featuring their new Big & Bold stamp set – Love’s Kiss, this is a new design for January 2020. There are 3 new Big & Bold stamp sets and several other sets releasing this month – you can see all new designs HERE.

These sets are available exclusively at Simon Says Stamp for the first 2 days after the launch, so January 3rd and January 4th, and after that, on January 5th they will also become available on the Colorado Craft Company’s website.

VIDEO TUTORIAL

Watch my video tutorial below or on Youtube to learn how I made the cards I’m sharing today.

BIG & BOLD SETS BY COLORADO CRAFT COMPANY

These stamp sets do have a bit of a higher price point, but they are larger in size and are very practical for those who like to color. Each of the Big & Bold sets features one large size image that easily takes up the entire space of an A2 card and the stamp sets also have a number of coordinating sentiments done in various styles to complement the image.

Because of the size of these images, you have the freedom to really go to town with your favorite coloring mediums and add as many details as you like. You also have a lot of room to dress up your cards with additional mediums and add in more detail with a white pen for example, or glossy accents. If you are not into coloring, the Love’s Kiss is perfect for you as all you need is a couple of ink pads and some embossing powder and you’ve got yourself a classy card for a girlfriend or Valentine’s Day.

CARD DETAILS

I love makeup and when I saw the Love’s Kiss stamp set I got very excited because I knew I would be able to experiment with my ink pads in a different way, in a way as if I was to do my lips.

When you do your lip you’d usually use a pencil to line the lip and the pencil typically is the same color as your lipstick or a shade darker. Sometimes you can also add a bit of lighter lipstick color to the center of the lip or add some gloss on top if you’d like a shiny, glossy lip. With all of this in mind, I looked through my stash to find the best supplies I could use to create a realistic-looking lip on paper.

The first thing that came to mind was ombre ink pads from Hero Arts. They have 3 colors of ink in them – a light, a medium and a dark and work really well with solid images such as these lips. The darkest color would be used around the edge of the lip, the outside edge and the lightest color on the inside.

It is very helpful to use a stamping tool such as MISTI or similar as it will allow you to double or even triple stamp your image in the exact same spot. I used Red ombre for the red lip, Pink ombre for the pink lip, Purple ombre for the purple and Peach for the peach one.

I wanted the lips to appear shiny, glossy and I wanted them to be slightly raised above the background. I was able to achieve this with the help of embossing powder, clear embossing powder.

As with applying the color, I’ve applied the embossing powder, or the gloss, several times to have more shine on the lips. Best to use regular clear embossing powder, not detailed embossing powder as this image is not detailed, it actually needs a chunkier powder for better coverage. Repeat adding gloss 2 to 4 times and heat set the powder each time with your heat tool. The lips will become more and more dimensional with each layer.

The Love’s Kiss stamp set comes with several sentiments, I picked one that reads “A Good Kiss is Worth Another” by Marylin Monroe and stamped it in black ink just below the lips. There’s also a little beauty mark in the stamp set, and I stamped one in Vintage Sepia ink above the lips for some added interest.

If you don’t have these ombre ink pads, you can achieve a similar look using your regular ink pads and just do some layered inking. Watch my video for the how-to.

I trimmed the panels to 4 x 5 1/4” and foam mounted them to A2 white side folding card bases to finish my cards.

    1. My favorite lip color is the Hero Arts pink to red, but all are beautiful! I have seen many many of your videos & enjoy your work. You were in the states but now back in the Ukraine. It’s always good to be back home! Thank you for the chance to win these beautiful stamp sets from Colorado Craft Company.

  1. I love the look of bold colored lips, but for myself I am more of a champagne color girl. The ombre ink pads work wonderfully with this stamp. Your talent so inspires me and I have used many of your cards for inspiration.

  2. I really liked the ombré Ruby to Royal Red & ombré Pink to Red. They’re all great though- but you always have inspiring cards that causes me to want to sit down and make my own. 🙂

  3. LOVE THOSE LIPS! Your ideas and techniques are brilliant! I love the way they have that glossy shine! The gorgeous Ruby Red lips are my favorite – both in real life AND on the cards!

  4. YOU, are the reason I’ve bought stamps from The Colorado Craft Company, Yana! I LOVE those Big & Bold Images! You did SUCH A GREAT JOB with those lips! I too LOOOVE make-up! Don’t go out without it! LOL What color Lipstick do I like? PINKS!!! (I’m a “Winter” if you’ve ever heard of that system before. I MIGHT BE dating myself! LOL) A SUPER VIDEO TOO!!!! ;)<3

  5. Hi Yana! I absolutely love your work – just stunning. Thank you for sharing your creative process with us. The Colorado Craft Big and Bold stamp sets are wonderful to work with. I love the red and pink lip color but the classic red lip is my most favorite:)

  6. Hey Yana….these are some serious ‘hot lips’ LOL. I’m of an older age now so to be honest, I don’t really wear lipstick but for you beautiful ladies out there, I like red lipstick. TFS Yana, and the chance to win!

  7. What a fun and easy way to send a kiss. Your video was so inspirational. All of the color combos were awesome, and it’s hard to pick one favorite…..but I do love those deep red lips!! Thanks for the opportunity to win.

  8. I always love your designs, and really enjoy the Colorado crafting company’s Big and Lovely Legs lines! I have several, and they always hit the mark! As for lipstick myself, I don’t really wear it very often but if I do I tend to stick 2 nudes or light browns.

  9. I LOVE the Lips stamp set! The favorite color of your created cards was the red; however, I were different lipstick colors and one on my favorites to wear is Emerald Green ( Hawk Eye by Urban Decay)! Thanks for a chance to win!

  10. What fun cards. I immediately thought of my mother; She loved red lipstick and after she applied the lipstick she “blotted” her lips on anything handy. As for my favorite lip color, it’s changed as I’ve gotten older. Since my hair has turned gray I tend to prefer lighter shades of pink, but try as I may, none of the colors I try makes me look younger! I’m not familiar with the Colorado Craft Company, but I love what you’ve shown us, particularly those Lovely Legs.

  11. Beautiful cards, I especially liked the purple lips. I love that they included a stamp for the beauty mark! Though I love a good bold red or fun purple lip, my all time favorite lip color is Teddy Bare by Milani. It’s the perfect “your lips but better” nude for me

  12. OMG I’m in love with those lips. They are perfect for girlie cards or a bit ole smooch for the hubs. I also see these lips in liquor gold. This company has become a favorite of mine. Love the larger images and the lovely legs set. I used one of them for my Christmas card to my hubby. Thanks for a chance to win Yana. I’m already a follower of your email list as well. Happy New Year darling.

  13. My favorite lip color is a dusty pink! I LOVE these lips!!!! I have always been obsessed with Marilyn Monroe so this is a must have for me!!! Thanks Yana and CCC!!!!

  14. Zdravstvuyte Yana! Thank you for sharing this new card design. I wish my lips were as full and glossy as those on your card, haha! I wear red shades, but my favourite lip colour is a rich burnt orange 🙂 Happy New Year! Agata

  15. I love this KISS video! I was watching it while rowing and it was so fun!
I use MAC Dark Side lipstick more often than not! I love the deep burgundy color! Purple based hues are my favorite lip color due to my olive skin tone. Enjoyed the video, as I always do!

  16. So beautiful Yana! Love watching your videos. I tend towards light browns, probably because I have red hair. Lots of colors don’t really go well with red hair.
    Happy New Year!
