Hello everyone and thank you so much for stopping by today to help celebrate July 2016 release from Altenew (more about the hop below).
I have 3 projects to share today, all created using identical supplies, but each card is slightly different (all of them are faux-postcards). Supplies I used are linked at the bottom of this post.
FAUX POSTCARD – I CHERISH OUR FRIENDSHIP
For my first project I started by stamping a sentiment that reads “You Are Awesome” and “I Cherish Our Friendship” in Versafine Onyx Black ink onto watercolor paper. The first part of the sentiment comes from the new Painted Encouragement stamp set while the second part is from an older, Lace Up set.

Once I had my sentiment stamped I knew where I could add flowers and I went on stamping several roses from the Bamboo Rose stamp set. This set features a perfect mix of sketched florals that are ideal for many occasions. I didn’t do any masking, although it might look like I did. These flowers fit together nicely for a seamless stamped look.
I knew I wanted to watercolor these images so I grabbed my Daniel Smith watercolors (I’m still using a sampler sheet – there is enough in one dot to watercolor several images) and a water brush and loosely watercolored these. After I mounted this stamped and watercolored panel onto an A2 card base I felt I needed to add something else and this is where I got the idea to use a postage stamp image from the Happy Mail set.
I stamped a few more images in black, added a round stamp in Morning Frost (it is barely visible on the photo). Instead of using flowers from the Happy Mail stamp set, I added another bamboo rose inside the postage stamp and watercolored it like other flowers. The background of the postage stamp was watercolored in light blue. I also added a bit of silver ink splatter using Distress Mica Spray (I am really loving this products lately!) and adhered several small and medium clear drops from Pretty Pink Posh.
FAUX POSTCARD – SENDING LOTS OF LOVE
My second project is very similar to the first one and is also a faux postcard-type card. The difference here is in the color of ink used for stamping. Instead of stamping bottom florals in black, I used Evening Gray Altenew ink, which turned out to be waterproof.
I used slightly different colors of ink to watercolor these florals, lighter colors. The round “Handmade Just For You” was also stamped in Evening Gray ink. I added silver splatter and clear droplets to dress up this card. Click the thumbnail images below to take a closer look at this card:
MISSING YOU
And finally my last project, Missing You, uses my “perfect cardmaking formula” and again, same supplies. After I stamped flowers and a postage stamp (this time I used Distress inks to watercolor these images), I cut images out with my scissors and arranged into a cluster.
I added an antique trim in gold, used some foam adhesive squares to add a bit of dimension to this card (the other cards are both one-layer) and of course I added several clear drops.
JULY 2016 RELEASE
This release features 16 new stamp sets. There’s a lot to chose from! My favorite sets are Bamboo Rose and Happy Mail (I used them for my today’s projects).

Love these watercoloured postage stamp themed cards! So very pretty!

Such gorgeous work on all your creations. I do love all the florals and the coffee set but I am somehow pulled to love the globe set a lot too! So I think the globe set is my favorite but I would gladly take any of them.
