CARDS DETAILS
Washi tapes were super popular several years ago, I was scrapbooking at that time (and not yet making cards) and so I’ve accumulated quite a stash. I’ve since almost completely depleted it by using washi mostly as temporary low tack tape to hold dies or my watercolor paper, but never as an actual product on my work. I was recently sent several washi tape designs from Alexandra Renke and my washi tape addiction has started all over again.
Alexandra Renke is a German brand/manufacturer of gorgeous paper products, stencils, stamps, washi tapes and so much more. You can explore their website here. These products are available in the USA, Simon Says Stamp carries many of their goods as well as other online stores and Amazon.
Today I have a bunch of simple Christmas Card ideas to share using Washi Tapes to create backgrounds for my cards. I used 3 different washi tape designs for my cards – Red Winter Rose, Christmas Typo, Berry x-mas. I mixed and matched them to create my own unique backgrounds for my cards. These blended seamlessly with each other and gave me beautiful and easy to make faux patterned papers for my cards.
I also used the same tapes to decorate the inside of the envelopes and even to seal some of the envelopes.
To add sentiments to these Christmas cards I white heat embossed various messages from the Meet Me Under the Mistletoe, Favorite Season and Merry and Bright stamp sets onto red cardstock, trimmed into rectangles and foam mounted onto my cards.
