Simon Says Stamp | Tropical Stripes – Happy For You Card

It is the end of July?! How did we get here so fast? I vividly remember early March, as if it just happened yesterday, when the quarantine was announced, the rest just feels like one big blur. Regardless, we are hot in the middle of Summer. Down here Summer means +25-35 C with nearly 100% humidity. Hot, sticky, just like in the tropics.

CARD DETAILS

As I was making a background for the baby card I shared the other day I had cut too many stripes from colored cardstock – Hero Arts Arctic, and Mist. So to have enough to make this background I cut additional from Simon’s Sea Glass and Fog and created this background. It is ridiculously simple. Easy to make. And this lets you utilize loads of the cardstock scraps we all have. I trimmed my background to be just a hair smaller than 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″ and adhered to the A2 white card base. The stripes were cut using a die from Spellbinders’ glimmer hot foil set.

I also had leftover stamped tropical leaves, I stamped a bunch when I was making my mermaid card; so I decided to use them for this card. I stamped a fun So Very Happy For You sentiment from CZ Happy Days stamp set, cut it out using a coordinating die, and added the leaves around it. I love the simplicity of this design.

Lastly, I embellished my card with sequins from Simon’s April Showers set.
