CARD DETAILS
I was most impressed by the Floral Background stamp from this release so I used it to make 2 modern floral cards. The concept is very similar to the one I shared yesterday, but there’s a twist.
I started with a panel of light pink cardstock from Hero Arts, cut 4 1/4 x 5 1/2”. I used electric tape to mask 1/4” off the edge on each side of this panel, took the panel to my Stamping Platform, inked the stamp with Nuvo Clear Mark ink, covered with gold embossing powder and heat set.
Once the embossing was done I peeled the tape to reveal a beautiful framed design. To finish this card I adhered it to A2 white card base, colored select sections with a Midas Touch gold shimmer pen and added a gold heat embossed sentiment, also from Tonic Studios.
I also made another version of this card in black. I do love a black card, especially when paired with metallic heat embossing.
Here I also gold heat embossed the same background in gold on black – for a much more striking result. Again, I used my Midas Touch gold shimmer pen to add colored accents. This pen really shines on dark papers.
You can add one layer of shimmer for a subtle result or layer in 2 or even 3 layers to create a lot of shimmering drama on your projects.
While these cards are extremely simple to make, they pack a punch and look absolutely gorgeous. They are also almost flat and thus very easy to pop in an envelope and mail.

I really love the Flora Background stamp! Some companies are making background stamps smaller, so they don’t work well on envelopes, so this one is coming home to mama! Your cards are stunning! How did I not know Tonic made stamp sets?
