STAMPtember | Waffle Flower – One Layer Bats Over Your Halloween Card

Hello friends! I’m back with a one layer card today featuring some Halloween stamping and coloring. Whenever I think of Halloween cards I always want to incorporate a moon image into my background to a maximum spooky effect.

STEP BY STEP

Here are a few step by step photos to better illustrate how I made this card. Click to enlarge:

CARD DETAILS

I started working on this card by first ink blending a moon onto a piece of cardstock using my inks, but later discarded this idea and decided I’d draw/color a moon instead. So I first stamped all of my images from the Sweet Tooth exclusive collaboration stamp set from Waffle Flower & Simon in Simon’s Intense Black ink on a white cardstock panel creating a scene with a moon in mind (but without an actual moon on the card).

Next, I drew a circle around my images imitating a moon and colored it using several Copic markers – YR18, YR15 and Y15. I made sure to color around my stamped images to eliminate having to add them as an additional layer on my project (of having to mask them if I were to do ink blending on a one layer card).

Once my moon was colored I used my purples and grays and colored the haunted house, bats and ghosts on my scene. I used the following colors:

• V17, V15, V12 and C9 to color the house
• C7, C5, C3 to color bats
• C3 and C1 to add shading

I also added a coat of lacquer using a Hero Arts pen to add glossy details to the pumpkin and ghosts on my card.
