When I saw this exclusive collaboration set from Simon Says Stamp and PinkFresh Studio and when I stamped it and colored it blue it really looked like an old decorative pillow embroidered by my grandmother. There’s just something so special, so dear about these dainty florals.

CARD DETAILS
I started making this card by heat embossing the frame image in Antique Gold embossing powder on Simon’s Cotton Candy cardstock. The frame is sized perfectly to leave a small, design-free, gap on a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″ panel. Even if you trim your front panel slightly (like I did here), you still have a bit of that gap. It looks absolutely amazing.
Next, I used just 2 colors of Copic markers – B34 and B99 and did some simple, quick, yet dramatic coloring. If you are afraid to color over heat embossing you can first stamp the image in Copic-friendly ink (use a stamp positioner and keep the stamp in the tool), color it with markers and then heat emboss the same image over it. It’s a bit more work, but it’s safe for the markers.
I stamped the tiniest “Hello” 3 times on white cardstock, cut three 1/4″ tall strips and foam mounted them on the panel. I also had one extra panel with the same design where I tested the colors I wanted to use; I had some of the leaves colored in the same way, so I cut them out using scissors (by the way, there is a coordinating die available) and arranged next to the sentiment filling this design in. I like the result.
Finally, I used flat blue sequins from Simon’s Blue Moon set to embellish the card.

Gorgeous blue flowers! Beautiful card!
So so beautiful! Thank you for sharing your inspiration.
Love this design Yana. It does remind me of a lot of crewel work I used to do. Thank you for sharing today.
Gorgeous colors. This is beautiful. It reminds me of crewel work on afghans and pillows. Very comforting.
Blue is my favorite color and to me this card is stunning. Beautiful work Yana. ; )
BEAUTIFULLY DONE, Yana! LOVE the blue & white & gold! It IS STUNNING!!! ;)<3
Another fabulous beautiful card!!! And thank you for the tip on how to color using kopecks and also heat embossing. That’s genius!!!!
Wow!! Gorgeous!!!
Gorgeous in my fav blue 🙂 <3
Oh this is soooo beautiful!
I just love the pink and blue together. So dainty and feminine. I had the same experience as mentioned above: reminds me of the crewel and embroidery work I used to do. Hard to believe you only used 2 markers on those beautiful flowers. I like the design of this stamp. Thanks, Yana!!
