STAMPtember | Newton’s Nook – Happy Birthday Puppy Card

Hello friends and happy Sunday! Today we have another fabulous exclusive collaboration stamp set from Simon Says Stamp and Newton’s Nook – this one features fun critters (dogs, cats and a raccoon) all holding a banner or a placeholder for a custom sentiment. Since I’m always low on Birthday cards I decided to make a Birthday card today using adorable doggie image!

CARD DETAILS

I started making this card by stamping image in Simon’s Intense Black ink onto Neenah 80lb cardstock using my mini MISTI. Next, I grabbed several colors of Copic markers and colored my images (all colors are listed below in Supplies). At first, I wanted one dog to be brown and the other one black/gray, and I did color him using light shades of gray, but I didn’t like the result so I colored over it using brown markers.

I went for a green banner and stamped Happy Birthday once my coloring was done. I cut these images out using scissors (there are coordinating dies available) and also stamped, colored and cut out a few hearts.

To create a background for this card I white heat embossed You Matter background and blended Sunshine, Orange Slush and Lipstick Red inks creating a gradient inspired by colors of Fall.

I die-cut an oval opening in the center of the panel, adhered panel onto an A2 white card base and foam mounted my puppies and hearts on top. I didn’t add any additional embellishments to this project as left it as is.
