Happy Friday, friends! I’m away on a quick one-day road trip today to Kyiv (the capital of Ukraine), going to get a new car!!! Meanwhile, I have another STAMPtember Exclusive card to share, this time featuring the Honey Bee – On My Mind stamp set. It is a large 6×8″ set featuring a large stunning fall wreath and lots of gorgeous sentiments to stamp inside the wreath.

CARD DETAILS
I decided to go with a simple design when making this card, although I did add a bit of interest by partially coloring the background with a C1 light gray Copic marker. I’m a big fan of colored backgrounds and having stamped and colored the wreath I really wanted to add something else to the background to help it pop. Coloring it a light gray seemed to have done the trick.
As for the leaves, this is probably the first time I tried coloring one image with red, green, and orange all in one. It was fun. I let go of the fear of messing it up and colored the maple leaf. I started by adding YG03 to the bottom part of the leaf. Next, I colored the top part with R22 and overlapped the R22 with YG03 – those gave such a pretty fall color! Next, I added darker green to the bottom of the leaf, darker red to the top of the leaf, and also orange here and there. It was fun! I’ll have to remember this coloring method for next time.
Follow these steps to re-create this card:
- Stamp wreath in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock (this reminds me to get a refill for my memento ink pad)
- Stamp the sentiment of your choice inside the wreath. This stamp set offers many options.
- Color the flowers using yellow and orange markers. I used: Y11, Y15, YR15 for the largest and Y15, YR15, YR18 for the smaller flowers. Flower centers were colored using C9.
- Color the leaves using a mix of green, yellow, and red. I used YG01, YG03, G99, R22, R24, R39 as well as the yellow colors mentioned above.
- Add highlights using a white pen.
- Color the bottom part of the background using the C1 marker. Feather it out about midway up. Trim panel to 4 x 5 1/4″ and foam mount to A2 white card base.
- Color the wreath itself using a C3 marker. Add white dot detail. Embellish with gold sequins and clear drops.

Beautiful card. Thank you. Love the stamp set.
Lovely, Yana – I admire your patience in coloring the backgournd – I love the slightly “misty” look it has. Have a safe trip… and share a photo of your new car 🙂
