STAMPtember | Gina K Designs Exclusive – Ink Blended Snowy Night Cards

Hello, friends and Happy Friday! Today I have two cards to share featuring Gina K Designs Snowflake Cascade Stamptember 2020 Exclusive stamp set (there is also a stamp + die set available if you’d like to get a coordinating die as well). This is a large 6×8 set with beautiful snowflake designs.

CARD DETAILS

I white heat embossed the snowflake border image on a panel of Hero Arts Arctic cardstock in Simon’s Detail White embossing powder. Next, I added ink blending using various shades of blue to create an ombre look. I ink blended with Hero Arts Splash, Blue Hawaii, and Navy, as well as Distress Oxide in Mermaid Lagoon. I sprayed the panel rather generously using Hero Arts Shimmer Spray. To restore the whiteness of embossing powder, I sprayed a bit of Ultra Clean cleaning solution onto a cloth and carefully wiped the white embossing powder. This helped remove the blue ink residue that was sitting on top of the embossing.

To create a sentiment for this card I cut one of the sentiment strips into 2 pieces and heat embossed Wishing You Joy on a previously foiled circle die cut (created using my Wreath glimmer plate). I foam mounted the sentiment onto the card and embellished the card with Simon’s Sea Glass sequins.

My next card showcases the snowflake cluster. I heat embossed it twice to create a full motif on my card. I used Simon’s Antique Gold embossing powder and did my embossing on the same Arctic cardstock from Hero Arts. I also added Happy Holidays sentiment in the center.

Next, I used the same colors of ink to do ink blending, but this time I ink blended from the edges in towards the center, keeping the center of the panel free from ink. I sprayed the panel with the same Shimmer Spray from Hero Arts to add sparkle (and it really does add a lot of shimmery shine, so pretty).

I trimmed this panel to 3 3/4 x 5″ and foam mounted onto the A2 black card base (I added a white cardstock panel on the inside of the card to be able to write a message). Lastly, I embellished this card using Silver jewels from Pretty Pink Posh.
