Hello friends! Today I’m taking part in Spellbinders blog hop showcasing several new collections. One of the collections is Elegant 3D Vignettes by Becca Feeken. It’s a very unique set of dies that allow you to create dimensional cards that fold down flat. I personally am not a fan of cards like that, but I do love Becca’s dies to pieces so I used a few new sets from this release to create my usual layered card.
As of September 2016 I work as an in-house creative designer at Spellbinders office in Phoenix. While I do a lot of work for them and create a number of different projects I am only sharing what I truly love made using their products here on my blog. I do not and never will share projects or mention products I not love.

This is also one of the cards I taught in my Card Making with Spellbinders class at the CREATIVATION show last month.
CARD DETAILS
When I designing this card for to teach during the class I was trying to imagine what would Becca Feeken use/do? We both have our own styles, but when I work with products by a particular designer I try to represent that designer as best as I can. Hence I used a lot of gold, some kraft, silk ribbon and of course flowers.
This card doesn’t require too much die-cutting, although you’ll have to cut quite a few pieces out. I used Hemstitch Rechangles (an older die) along with Tiara Rondelle (this one is so detailed and delicate) and Cinch and Go Flowers III.
The wow part of this card are the handmade flowers. I used a new-to-me material – foamiran (or foam paper). This paper, when heated becomes pliable and lets you manipulate it easily without losing it’s look. I used my heat tool and heated each of the petal layers to allow them to curl up and cup up. There are numerous tutorials on Youtube that show in detail how to work with this material and create stunning flowers. I did just the basics here.
I made 3 flowers with 4 layers each and put them in a little bouquet. I also added a silk ribbon bow and of course white pearls to embellish my card.

This is the most beautiful card! Amazing that your creativity allowed you to use so many dies together in harmony. I just bought some foamiran and had only been told to use it with punches! So now I know my flower dies will work just fine.

I am not usually one for a card which is very fussy and has flowers etc. all over it. I do though think the technique in making these flowers is fantastic and the die shapes are amazing but now sure if they are for my stash. :O)

Always look forward to a post/video from you using Spellbinder dies! I’ve seen Foamiran being used on videos and am very intrigued by it. Would like to give it a try. I checked out your supplies list but didn’t see it. Would you mind sharing where you got it? I haven’t been able to find it in the U.S. Some beautiful new Spellbinders’ dies out and I’m especially looking forward to the “folk art”-ish collection that I saw you introduce in a video from Creativation 2018. When I first saw the photo of your card, I assumed the flower was purchased pre-made. So I was pleasantly shocked to read that you made it!!
