Hello friends! Today I’d like to share a card that features a rather non-traditional approach to stamping. Instead of using a background stamp I decided to put embossing folder to a good use and stamp with its help to create a wedding card.

VIDEO TUTORIAL – STAMPING WITH EMBOSSING FOLDER
Embossing folders are fantastic tools to add texture and dimension to a project, but they can also be used for other things, such as stamping. In my video tutorial I’m showing how easy it is to stamp a mixed media background with the help of Blistered embossing folder and Gelatos. Watch video below or on my Youtube channel:

CARD DETAILS
To create this card I first die cut a number of flower layers using Shabby Posies dies (I used 2 smaller dies) from Tammy Tutterow. I wanted my flowers to be dimensional, so instead of using paper, I used beautiful peach felt and I went with light and dark peach felt from WPlus9.
It is important to use felt that is designed for die cutting to be able to cut the shapes out nicely, not every kind of felt works great for die cutting. I love using felt from Simon Says Stamp and WPlus9 for my die cutting projects.
To create leaves I used leaf dies from the Create a Rose set and die cut those out of light peach felt.
I used a needle and some thread to form dimensional flowers (you can also use a hot glue gun) and to create flower centers I adhered a small clear drop inside each.
To create the background for this card I used Spellbinders Blistered embossing folder and 4 colors of Faber-Castell Gelatos (I’m linking to various Gelatos sets in the supply list below, I have the smallest 10 pc set plus a few loose colors). Be sure to work on the more solid side of the embossing folder for best results. You’ll also need watercolor paper and a water bottle to be able to mist water over gelatos.
I applied several colors of Faber Castell Gelatos to my embossing folder, sprayed it with water, placed my watercolor paper inside, closed the folder and pressed down with my fingers, I did not run it through my die cutting machine, I only stamped with it. You can let your stamped background air dry or use a heat tool to speed up the drying process.
Next I used the largest die from the 5×7 Matting Basics A set and trimmed my stamped piece down. I die cut one additional element, a frame, I used gold mirror cardstock and a frame die from the Fancy Framed Tags Four. Frame was foam mounted onto the panel, I also added a gold heat embossed sentiment that reads – Congratulations on Your Wedding Day.
Lastly I embellished the card with several Gold and Rose Gold sequins and clear drops and foam mounted my panel onto a side folding 5×7 white card base.
