I am always particularly fond of small dies – there’s so much you can do with them! Today I have a card that shows a number of ways one small die can be used to create a project an entire project – from a background to a focal point.

VIDEO TUTORIAL
I’ve created a video tutorial where I am sharing everything in detail. You can watch it below or on my Youtube channel.

CARD DETAILS
I’ve already shared several videos where I used die D-lite dies to create a negative die cut panel for a card and another video where I made a custom embossing plate. I combined both of these techniques and made a one of a kind background for a fun masculine project.
I used a rocket ship die from the fun Spaced Out set and first created a negative die cut panel. Die-cutting a panel like this takes a bit of time, but results are always worth it. To create the illusion of dry embossing in the background I die-cut and embossed identical ships out of different cardstock and adhered them in the open negative spaces.
I went with a simple Hello sentiment for this card, although the sky’s the limit. This can be easily turned into a Birthday card for a little boy, a Love You card for a space geek (simply replace enamel dots with hearts) and more.
