Hello friends! My mom was invited to a wedding in July and she asked me if I had a wedding card to give her. I had none so I decided to make a wedding card and film a video tutorial along the way. I already had an existing card design on hand and I just changed the colors a bit, added a different sentiment and turned an everyday card into a wedding one (you can see it at the end of this post).

VIDEO TUTORIAL
As always, I filmed a video tutorial showing how to create this project from start to finish. I’m hoping you’ll enjoy it. Watch it below or on my Youtube channel.

CARDS DETAILS
I started to work on my wedding card by scoring a sheet of Neenah Desert Storm 80 LB cardstock at 5 1/2” inches. Next, I used the largest die, the outer edge die, from the Flourished Square die set from the Romancing the Swirl collection by Becca for Spellbinders and die-cut a shaped card base.
When I work with Spellbinders dies I love to create shaped cards and just go outside the box. To create a shaped card base using a die you need to make sure that the cutting edge of the die goes above the fold of your card base. If it doesn’t go above the fold you’ll end up die cutting just 2 pieces of cardstock instead of one shaped card base.
Next, I die-cut an identical shape out gold foil cardstock and also used two additional dies to go along with it to turn this into an elegant swirl frame. I also die-cut & embossed a Hemstitch Square frame out of white cardstock (and one out of green but without the hemstitch detail).
Finally, I used Foamiran (do not confuse with craft foam) and die-cut several flower and leaf layers for my handmade flowers.
Once I had all of my parts and pieces ready I assembled the card. For my sentiment I used two stamp sets – Sketchy Landmarks from Altenew and Banner Messages from Papertrey Ink.
I also added a pocket on the inside of the card and decorated the back just for fun (I didn’t film it nor do I have photos as I did after I’d finished my video and after I took the photos of the card).
ADDITIONAL INSPIRATION
Here’s the other card I mentioned at the beginning of this post – I used same dies and identical layout to create it, yet switched the colors and sentiments to have a completely different look.

Soany layers, it looks beautiful
You may not believe this, but it’s true. Just the other day I was using spellbinders dies to make a card. I was wondering (as I have been recently) when you might be doing another spellbinder card (my favorite) video. Just yesterday I was thinking about playing again with the foamiran I got a short while ago but knew I needed to watch a video again on it. I was toying around with the idea of asking if you would do a video using the 2 (dies and foam). Then … this morning … BAM!!!!!!!! So ……. THANK YOU!!!!!! Bea-u-ti-ful card!!
Lovely, lovely intricate card! Thanks for sharing!
It may be my age, but, I love this style of card. Maybe it’s because I’m also a gardener and love to design in that realm and not just paper and paint. In 1968 I was a National Scholastic Gold Key Recipient in pen and ink. But, when I married I put away my love of art thinking it was childish since I was not professionally trained. Years later I designed an entire garden from the ground up. When it was completed I realized I had found my love of art again… on a garden path. So, while flowers may not be your cup of tea, and that’s okay, your artwork (and that is what it is), speaks to many. You have showcased the newest dies in a most romantic and beautiful way. The cards are lovely and the tutorial – perfect!
Such a lovely card. Clearly the die is elegant, but you certainly put your own spin on it to take it to stunning!
