I think this card is a bit over the top. Not only is there foiling, but also glitter paper, mirror paper, and gold embellishments. I showed it to my friend at work, the girl that designed the poinsettia set I used here, and she loved it (I was actually not going to post this card, because I didn’t like it). And the fact that my friend loved it got me thinking – if she liked it, maybe you’ll like it too?
This is the third post from my impromptu “It’s a Christmas Season” mini series here on my blog. See the first post here and the second one here.

CARD DETAILS
I went through my big stash of leftover colored cardstock, picked some pretty shades of blue, and foiled A LOT of poinsettias using gold foil. Some foiled really well, others didn’t foil so good at all, it all depends on the type of the paper the foiling is taking place on. I die-cut the poinsettias that foiled well and, inspired by this card, I started to build my poinsettia background/pattern.
The poinsettia is a fantastic set. Firstly, it is a glimmer plate set that foils stunning poinsettias in 3 sizes and leaves in 2 sizes. Secondly, there are coordinating dies to cut the foiled images out. VERY clever. You can have large poinsettias by layering all 3 layers, or a bit smaller poinsettias by using 2 layers or even just stacking up 2 of the smaller laters.
I used foam adhesive squares to pop the bottom poinsettia layer up and then used glue to add additional layers and also glue the Fashion Gold embellishments in the center. As for the sentiment, I went with a simple Merry Christmas. I added some die cut leaves from the Noel set – I cut those from gold glitter and gold mirror cardstock.
I trimmed the panel to about 4 x 5 1/4″ and added a brush gold cardstock mat under it. Finally, I foam mounted everything onto an A2 white card base.
What do you think? Is this card a bit over the top?
Also, thank you for your comments on my previous post, I really appreciate them! I’ll plan to film a video for all fo these cards soon (and I’ll show you a trick to foil multiple images faster).

We are often our worst critics, I like the mix of blues and gold, the glitter and mirror elements add more texture. I’m glad you decided to share this inspiration.
