Spellbinders | Good Vibes Only Cards. Simple Die-Cutting Techniques + Coupon Code Inside

Hello friends! Today I have a bunch of cards to share all created using dies from the Good Vibes Only collection by Stephanie Low for Spellbinders. I’m a huge fan of Stephanie’s art and I had a blast making these cards using her dies and some of my other supplies.

I have made these awhile back (back when I was in Phoenix) and you might have already seen them on the Spellbinders website. If you ever wondered how these were made – I’m sharing below!

FLOWER WHISPERS – THINKING OF YOU CARD

All dies in this collection, Good Vibes Only, cut not just the design out, they also cut a backer/shadow layer. This adds A LOT to the creative options. To create my first card used Flower Whispers die and my Copic markers to make a big & bold colored flower.

I die-cut flower outline/detail layer out of black cardstock and a backer/shadow layer out of white. Next, I used my Copic markers and colored the backer layer adding highlights and shading to each “section” mimicking a beautiful flower.

This, I think, is one of the best ways to use this gorgeous die.

Good Vibes Only Card

One of the coolest dies in this collection is the Good Vibes Only sentiment die. It is very large (the card below is A2 for size reference) and easily takes center stage on a card or can also be used on a scrapbook page etc.

Here I die-cut the detail layer out of white cardstock and white fun foam to achieve a lot of dimension. I added a black backer/shadow layer and foam mounted my die cut onto a pretty floral patterned paper panel.

Wandering Butterflies – Dear Friend Card

For my next card I used Wandering Butterflies dies. I die-cut a detail layer out of black cardstock for the most striking result. To create a backer/shadow layer I used same patterned paper I used above to add some color.

I gently shaped the wings of my butterflies and added glue just to the body part letting the wings float.

Lovely Lilac – To Someone Who Makes Other’s Happy Card

For my next card I tried to use patterned paper to mimic the floral pattern/design of my die cut. I die-cut lilac out of black cardstock and white fun foam for some dimension. Next, I used it the die cut as a guide to determine which part of patterned paper would best work with this design.

I also die-cut additional leaves out of black cardstock to make my floral arrangement fuller. I added a pretty sentiment and some black accents.

Feathers In The Wind – You Are Incredible Card

There’s also a beautiful feather die included in this collection. I couldn’t resist using it with the inlay die cutting technique. I die-cut feather outline out of black cardstock and coated with Sparkle embossing powder to get a pretty shimmery look.

Next, I die-cut same feather out of patterned paper and inlayed the negatives into my black feather for a unique colored-like look. This process is time consuming, but the results are already fabulous!

Rosy Summer Flowers – Thank You Card

For my next card I once again tried to match up pattern on printed paper with a die design – and I think I’ve found one that looks just perfect! I once again die-cut detail layer out of black cardstock and fun foam.

I added a simple graphic print as the background panel for my card, layered my die-cut flower on top and added a simple Thank You sentiment.
