I wish I had more time to create. I have so many ideas, so many things I want to try out, but sadly I only get about an hour a day for my favorite activity. I’d love to get a day, or two, or maybe a whole week dedicated just to crafting! The more cards I make, the more fresh ideas I have. It is like a cycle, the more I make, the more I want to make.
I made this Christmas Village card not too long ago. I am not quite happy with it, and while I do know what I’d like to fix, I don’t have time to re-make it. I wish I’d added layers, I wish I’d used other colors to color the houses. I wish I’d added snow in a different way.

CARD DETAILS
I foiled the Winter Village, snow, and sentiment in gold foil on white cardstock. I used Simon’s new 130lb, it foils beautifully. The 120lb foils perfectly as well. It is best to foil each plate separately, I’ve found I get better results when I foil each village plate on its own. The snow was foiled several times, I flipped the plate each time to change up the pattern.
The whole background was colored with Copic markers. The sky took the longest, I used B99 for a really dark blue sky. I also colored the trees using YG93 and YG95, I should have used a different shade of green. The houses were colored with R27, W3, and W5. The W1 marker was used to shade the snow. While I like the overall card layout, I’m not sure about the colors. I think the white houses looked better, but at the same time having the houses white meant this card lacked in color.
The village doesn’t span all the way across an A2 card, it is about 4″ wide, maybe a bit less. I trimmed my panel to 4 x 5 1/2″ and foam mounted to A2 white card base. I also foiled the main sentiment on a separate piece of paper, cut it out, stacked several die cuts to create dimension, and adhered to the card.
I also used FSJ Fashion Gold dots to embellish this card, I LOVE using those embellishments on my projects. They are so unique!
I’m curious to hear what you think about this card? Do you like it? What do you not like? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks!

Beautiful card. I wouldn’t change anything.
thank you, Barbara. I’m so glad you say so!
I think it’s super! If you made it again with all
the changes you mentioned, then perhaps the
second one would be super too!!!
Thank you, Sharon! Maybe I will give it a go during the holiday break. Just for fun, to see if it would make a difference. Thanks!
