Last Friday Spellbinders did their first-ever Club-a-Long event live on YouTube – it was loads of fun! I had the pleasure to join the event live (even though I was mostly in the comments section) and create a card with the December’23 Small Die of the Month – Sneaking a Kiss (this was a pre-recorded segment). The Club-a-Long also featured a December BetterPress & Wax Seal Card by Kim and a January Large Die card by Josie from Spellbinders. Be sure to watch it if you haven’t already. There’s a link to the replay below.

CARD DETAILS
My idea for this card was to create a background using umbrellas to have a look of a very rainy day, so I die-cut a bunch using different colors of blue cardstock and assembled them. I ended up using 7 umbrellas on this card (but I did make a lot more, I was in the zone and just had so much fun).
I also used the 3D Embossing Folders for December’23 to emboss a floral pattern on the girl’s dress (doesn’t it look pretty?) and a Clear Stamp of the Month for December’23 to do a sentiment.
The girl is a “dancin’ die”, meaning the legs can swing from side to side. I love Spellbinders’ dancing dies as they easily add interactivity to a card. I didn’t make this one interactive, but I just wanted to mention it.
I added 2 red hearts over the main umbrella (btw the guy’s socks are cut from the same color of cardstock and they match!) and finished the card by adding black gems onto the top of the umbrellas.
I hope you watch the replay if you haven’t watched the Club-a-Long Live. We are already planning our next one!
Have fun die-cutting!

Absolutely fabulous! Very stylish. Love the repeated design element. Love the pop of color among already-pretty blues. Just love the whole card!

thank you, Lori! I love this die set. So ambiguous, yet so powerful.
This is adorable … love her dress and all the blue umbrellas
Thank you 🙂 I had to make it yellow as I have a yellow Summer dress I absolutely love and it sort of inspired this design.
She reminds me of the Morton Salt girl. Love it!
I had to go look up Morton Salt girl. She does look similar!
What a fabulous design! Love all the umbrellas, it reminds me of photography from NYC and Paris!
thank you! Umbrellas have something uniquely magical about them 🙂
This is a P.S. comment. I made 2 cards using 5 umbrellas each with a sentiment “under the weather” and lots of your tips. Now I’m thinking of a rainbow card, I love these dies!
