Spellbinders | Card Ideas with Mirrored Arch Collection. Video

Hello-hello! I’m back to share several card ideas for our Moms (for Mother’s Day or just because, plus there’s one Birthday card in there, as well) featuring the Mirrored Arch Collection by Spellbinders. This is a fantastic collection with a little bit of everything for everyone – an embossing folder, a die set, and a few BetterPress plates (and remember, if you don’t have the BetterPress system, you can just get the BetterPress plates and use them in you Glimmer!).

CARDS DETAILS

My first card is a gate-fold featuring the Luxe Backdrop and Border 3D Emboss & Cut Folder. This folder is simply amazing. Not only does it give you a beautiful embossed background for an A2 card, but it also allows you to emboss and die-cut a decorative border. I used mine to create a gatefold card (I’ve not done one in a long time, this was fun! Be sure to watch my video for the detailed how-to). I had to incorporate magnets to create a closure for the card (I used magnetic paper, similar to THIS, I can’t link to the exact product as I bought my paper in Ukraine).

I ink-blended the embossed cardstock (Fruit Punch by Spellbinders) with Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Inks – Carnation, Rose, Honey. I love how this changed the color of the cardstock and made it a lot more vivid. I added an A2 top folding card base inside my gate fold (I cut 1/8″ off the card base so that it would fit). I used Fresh Picked Anemones flowers and Lemon Zest leaves to create a floral arrangement for this card.

My next card is a shaped one! I created the shaped card base using the Mirrored Arch Labels dies. I added subtle ink blending to the top panel (die cut using the 2nd largest label die). I love how that added just a hint of pink to the background. You could also ink blend a touch of yellow.

I used the same Fresh Picked Anemones flowers and Lemon Zest leaves and lemons to create a floral arrangement for this card. I especially love the lemons, I’ve not used those in a long time and I love them! Watch another video HERE using the Lemon Zest die set. I also added Aura sequins to embellish the card.

My next card features the Luxe Backdrop and Border 3D Emboss & Cut Folder. Here I used the other part of the folder, to create an embossed background for my card. I added the same ink blending as I did for card #1 in this blog post.

I used just the Lemon Zest die to create the leaves and lemons for this card. I also added a reverse sentiment, I made it using the leftover Matte Gold foil from foiling all the other sentiments for my card, I love to do this, this gives me 2x sentiments!

My next 2 cards feature the Mirrored Arch Blooms Press Plate. I foiled this plate in Matte Gold foil on BetterPress paper and used Karin Brush markers, which are watercolor markers, to color this image.

I also used the Mirrored Arch Labels dies and BetterPress plate from the Mirrored Arch Nested Sprigs to create a sentiment cluster.

My last card for today (even though I have a lot more ideas for these products!) features very simple ink blending. I foiled the Mirrored Arch Blooms Press Plate on Simon Says Stamp #130lb cardstock and ink blended the background using Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated inks (the same colors I mentioned above).
