Spelbinders | Grids & More Fresh Picked Cards. Video

Hello crafty friends! I’m excited to share a card or two made with the recent Spellbinders More Fresh Picked collection. The original Fresh Picked is a collection of dies first released in January 2024 offers an unexpected look at flowers with a mid-century modern twist. I have shared card ideas with this collection previously, and you can see them HERE.

Today I’m looking at a recent addition to this line, a collection called More Fresh Picked with 3 more unique floral die sets.

Fresh Picked dies are designed to work on A2 cards with the leaves, vines, and flowers filling the space of 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″ cards nicely and snugly. I wanted to show you a different way to use it, a way to stretch these dies and use them beyond their intended use. I opted for a larger size card, a 5×7″, this is not a size I go for often, in fact, I can’t remember the last time I’ve made a card this big! And I went for a 2×3 grid design with 6 floral clusters on each card.

CARD DETAILS

Instead of sticking to one die set per card, something I typically do, I mixed different sets from this collection to have unique floral arrangements. The first card features the Angel Trumpets and Vase Bouquet dies. I opted for a simple pink, yellow, and green color combo, but went with a dark green background to bring in the drama.

Several opal gems were added onto the background to help the grid sections meld into what seems to be a solid floral background. Remove the gems and you’ll have 6 distinct sections.

My second card features the Daisies set along with a few florals from the Vase Bouquet set. Here I went with a simpler and calmer color combination, I have just the white and yellow with a touch of Barely Peach.

Both cards feature a skinny strip sentiment foiled in the bottom part of the card, this was done using a BetterPress sentiment set from my recent Let’s Celebrate collection, and foiling was done in Matte Gold foil.

I also used gems here, but this time went with black Onyx to create flower centers on the smaller flowers. The large flower centers were made using colored cardstock and dies.
