Simon Says Stamp | Where Flowers Bloom – So Does Hope. Polychromos Coloring

Hello friends! For the past few days I have been longing for Spring. It’s very sunny and warm in Phoenix, but unbearably dry. With Spring comes rain and new life for plants so I can’t wait for it to begin raining and I’m very excited to see the desert bloom again. While it’s still going to be a few weeks before the Spring and rains come I turned to my stamps and paper and translated my longing for Spring onto a card.

CARD DETAILS

I started working on this card by picking out the right shade of cardstock. First I tried using Simon Says Stamp Fog as it is one of my favorites, but found that there wasn’t much contrast between the white coloring and background, so I opted to go with a slightly darker color – Smoke Gray.

I stamped a pattern using just one image from the Floral Bliss stamp set in Fog ink color onto my Smoke paper and started coloring each image with Polychromos pencils. I love to use my Polychromos for coloring on dark cardstock colors as this is where these pencils really come to life and pop.

I went with 5 pencils today: May Green #170, Chromium Green Opaque #174, Pink Madder Lake #129, Fuchsia #123 and White #101.

Once my colorign was done (see step by step below) I heat embossed Where Flowers Bloom – So Does Hope in white embossing powder onto same Smoke cardstock and foam mounted onto the card (I adhered my colored panel onto an A2 side folding white card base).
