Simon Says Stamp | Wedding Cake Card

Hello, friends! I have a floral wedding card to share with you today. This one combines images from several sets and is rather easy to make.

CARD DETAILS

I started working on this card by stamping a wedding cake from the Sweet Cakes stamp set in Sunkist and a hint of Coral Reef; I also stamped a cake stand in Stone and cut all of these out using coordinating dies in my Platinum 6 machine.

I knew I wanted to decorate my cake with flowers so I looked through my stash for teeny-tiny florals and found such in Blooming Day stamp set. I stamped a 4 of the smallest flowers using Melon, Teeny Bikini, Doll Pink and Apricot. After cutting them out using coordinating dies I arranged them on my card and foam mounted in place.

I wanted to add some elegance to this card, so for my background I picked kraft cardstock and decorated it with gold dimensional dots. I actually made this background awhile back and had it sitting with my stencils waiting to be used. I used Simon’s Large Dot stencil along with Ranger Embossing Paste and Simon’s Antique Gold embossing powder.

To create a sentiment for this card I used a beautiful one from Forever After stamp set – “Grow Old With Me… The Best Is Yet To Be”. Finally I used Nuvo drops in Copper Penny for the flower centers. This particular bottle is a bit dry, I think, and so instead of round dots I ended up having spiky centers, which I liked – something different for a change.
