Hello friends! I don’t know about you, but I am having tons of tun with Simon’s new tree background stamp (called Brushes Branches). I’ve already shared a card using this stamp with a Spring look and feel to it and today I have a night time sky friendship card to share.

CARD DETAILS
I started working on this card by creating a background. Unlike my first card I shared using this stamp, I painted the background first and heat embossed the tree image later. I used my Daniel Smith watercolors and started with Imperial Purple to create a soft graduated wash.
Next, I added a bit of Indigo to darken the purple and make the top part of my sky blue. I also splattered some white acrylic paint to mimic stars, but I can’t say I was happy with the result. I ended up trying to remove some of it, but without success.
Once my background was dry I stamped the tree in Versafine Onyx Black ink using my Stamp Platform tool – I stamped it several times to have a true black.
I covered the tree with Hero Arts Sparkle embossing powder and heat set it. This powder is clear but has beautiful glitter mixed in with it. I love using this embossing powder for snow in the winter, also to add sugar coated look to some images and apparently it looks fantastic on black!
I added a sentiment heat embossed in the same manner – Thank You For Being Amazing and foam mounted my panel onto an A2 card base. Lastly, I embellished the tree branches using purple confetti from Simon.

I am so impressed with your card. It is just lovely. I am 85 yrs. young and I do enjoy the process of card making. It’s very challenging, but when people like you share their talent…it helps so much for people like me. TFS your God given talent to the paper crafting world.
