EXCLUSIVE YANA SMAKULA DANIEL SMITH WATERCOLOR PALETTE
I’m very excited to introduce a special Daniel Smith Palette that includes 18 of my most favorite colors to paint with. This palette is available exclusively at Simon Says Stamp.com. Learn about this palette here or on Youtube:
CARD DETAILS
The card I am sharing today uses 3 new products from Simon – Kaleidoscope Center Cut Background stamp, Stained Glass Greetings stamp & die set and my very own Daniel Smith Yana Smakula Palette featuring 18 of my favorite watercolor colors. I am thrilled to have had the chance to put my favorite watercolor colors into one handy palette! Thank you, Simon!
I started working on this card by heat embossing the Kaleidoscope Center Cut background stamp (I took out the central part of the stamp) in Simon’s Antique Gold embossing powder onto Arches Hot Pressed watercolor paper.
Next, I used colors from my palette and started coloring (I used: Indigo, Lunar Blue, Duochrome Oceanic, Cascade Green and Sodalite Genuine). I wet the background first and did a wet on wet coloring allowing the water to move the pigments on my background. I waited for the background to dry and added a second layer of colors; this time I didn’t pre-wet my paper and painted onto a dry surface.
Once I was happy with my background I once again let it dry. I used my Finetec watercolors and added pearlescent droplets to make this background look a bit messy. Next, I trimmed it to 4 x 5 1/4″ and foam mounted onto an A2 card base.
To create a sentiment for this card I used the Stained Glass Greetings stamps and coordinating dies and heat embossed “May Your Christmas Be Filled With Love”. Lastly, I embellished this card using gold confetti from the Rainbow Confetti Mix.

This background is stunning. My hubby just bought me the 238 dot chart, which includes the colors you mention in the video. I can hardly wait to try it out!
Just lovely!!!!
I absolutely love this stained glass card and what a great way to try out watercolors. Thank you!
WOW such a beautiful card Yana.
This is Amazing! I looked at the Poinsettia first and loved it but this one is so appealing to me! I adore the contrast between the light in the gold accents and the deep blue hues in the painted area. Stunning…again…
Wow – love the watercolor results, and I’ve always loved stained glass.
Absolutely beautiful!!

Your watercoloring is so gorgeous, Yana! Love your palette choices too.
This is an amazingly luxurious Christmas spirit card !
Your Christmas card is stunning!!
I spent over a $100.00 for supplies from SimonSays to make this card and a Christmas tree card. None of which even remotely look like what you demonstrated. The kaleidoscope stamp was hard to get image onto my hot press paper as you recommended, which isnt cheap. It took six times to finally get a good image having to reink stamp and wasting 5 sheets of paper. The watercolors also not cheap when i opened tubes paint came gushing out all over me and wasting the paint, and none of them looked like your demo either. Your demo looks really easy and, and frankly it’s not. Makes me wonder how many re-takes you had to make on this video. I am disappointed at spending this amount of money and not getting good results. I have a feeling your a spokesperson to make money for SimonSays. TV znd videos sell.
