I have to say, the new mini slimline card size is so refreshing. I love to try out new card formats, and while it did take me quite a while to give the slimline format a try, I jumped on the mini slimline trend nearly immediately and I love it. Somehow I prefer smaller cards, they feel cozier in a way.

CARD IDEA
To calculate the size for this new card size I used the dimensions of the mini slimline envelope –3 1/2 x 6 1/2″. I subtracted a 1/4″, so the card size ended up 3 1/4 x 6 1/4″. The white panel is 1/4″ smaller than the card base, so 3 x 6″.
I stamped images from the Magnolia Cottage stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored using a mix of Copic Markers and Polychromos colored pencils. I also used coordinating dies and cut the images out in my Platinum 6 die cutting machine.
I foam mounted the jug and florals and also added the door and window to make it look like it was a small cottage. I love this concept. I also added some grass under the cottage by dotting green markers and stamping the stones.
I stamped the sentiment directly onto the panel and also stamped several hearts. The panel was foam mounted onto a white card base covered with gray cardstock. I wanted the color combo for this card to be purple, yellow, and gray – these colors always go so well together.
Finally, I embellished the card with Sparkling Clear Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. Have you tried the mini slimline card size yet?

thank you! so glad you like it 🙂
Yes! I really like the mini slimline size! Something different can really give a spark of inspiration. I love your purples, dimension and the dotted grass is a great touch. I am terrible at “flicks” of color, so I am going to give the dots a try. Thank you for the great ideas!
Love this card! What is the starting dimension of the card stock? I’m mathematically challenged.
love the great dimension
So pretty, love the colors. I’ve heard about this mini slimline card and wonder about it. Thanks for your tips and techniques.
Fantastic carD. Thank you.
This is is really pretty
Pretty card! 🙂
I’m so confused of all these card sizes. I mainly make US A2, 6×6 or European A6 card sizes. I’m soooo behind of all these trendy sizes. 🙂
