Simon Says Stamp | Suzy’s Watercolor Prints Christmas Cards

These, I promise, are the last 2 Christmas cards I’ll share this year. While Christmas is my favorite time of the year I am ready to move on to the next season in cardmaking. This week I have been sharing cards I made using Suzy’s Watercolor Prints from Simon Says Stamp. I’ve shared one colored using my favorite Polychromos and one colored using Copics.

I have two more project to share today, both colored pencils and watercolors. The first card, Making Spirits Bright, features watercolor pencil coloring.

I used Derwent Inktense Watercolor pencils along with a water brush to color this stunning Holiday print. The beauty of this particular brand of pencils is they become permanent once dry, so you can layer color without the fear of previous layer bleeding. Here’s a close up of this card:

For my second card I combined colored pencils (Polychromos) and black watercolor. I first colored the image using pencils and to create a dramatic background around it colored it black using watercolors. This gave me the opportunity to use another sentiment as I painted over the original one.

Overall these were quick and easy to make. I love how convenient these watercolor prints are – no stamping needed to make a card. You can easily grab a pack of these prints on the go and color (using your favorite medium, doesn’t have to be watercolor) as you travel or commute.
