Happy weekend, friends! Recently I shared a card featuring a new layered stencil from Simon Says Stamp called Layered Tulips. I got so carried away, I made a few more tulip cards in different colors of ink – this stencil is so easy to use and I just couldn’t put it down once I started using it.

SPRING TULIPS CARD DETAILS
Here’s a look at all 3 cards I made using this stencil. I have to say, these tulips look stunning in just about any ink color! I first used yellows and fell in love with the results, but later tried pink and coral – and loved those cards just as much.
The ink colors I used for the pink card are the following:
- Twirling Tutu (link Pink), Hollyhock (dark pink)
- Willow (light green), Forever Green (dark green).
I trimmed the tulips panel to 3 3/4 x 5″ and foam mounted onto the A2 Fog card base. I also added a sentiment heat embossed in Silver embossing powder on Fog cardstock, the sentiment comes from the Just Because Word Mix 2 stamp set, and stamped a sub sentiment in black that reads “Thinking Of You”.
For this card, I used the following ink colors:
- Apricot (light orange), Coral Reef (dark orange)
- Willow (light green), Forever Green (dark green).
I completed this card in the same way, I used black ink for stamping both sentiments.
I also used Stay Gold sequins from Simon as well as Valentine Mix Sequins and Silver Jewels from Pretty Pink Posh to embellish my cards.

Those are so pretty.
These tulips are gorgeous in every palette, just perfect for spring.
Tulips are one of my favorite flowers and I love that they come in every color imaginable (even black!!). As a crafter, they are so versatile! Love the colors you’ve chosen for your tulips!! BTW, I recently colored a tulip stamped image with my pencils and was struggling with what to do with the background of the colored pencil paper (didn’t want to cut the tulips out). With some white tulips I really needed to color the background. I tried using Distress inks and they worked beautifully!! I couldn’t believe how well the ink blended on colored pencil paper!!! Thanks, Yana. May you and your loved ones and the people of Ukraine stay healthy and safe.
Sooooo Beautiful!! Just the cheery spring cards we all need right now!!!
