Hello all! I’m quickly popping in to share a quick look at the latest Simon Says Stamp release – Spring Plush. I am seriously addicted to sewing these cute felt ornaments – too adorable!
I’ll be sharing Easter Egg Cozies and an in-depth video tomorrow (stay tuned!), for today I have a smaller project – super fun Polka Dot Easter Eggs. I made these to be used a little place card holders for our Easter table but I haven’t had the chance to style the table yet, so I’m sharing just some quick photos today.
I used the Easter Egg die and die cut two layers out of dark purple felt (I am linking to a very similar felt in Simon’s Store, I used felt from my stash) and also Polka Dot Egg die and die cut a polka layer out of light purple felt. Stitched all three together using a simple blanket stitch and thick white thread.
To decorate these eggs I used Stitched Daisies dies and die cut two layers using the largest and smallest dies, I connected them using a brad with a purple gem to match the colors of my project and glued in place using glossy accents, I also added a bit of white thread for a somewhat messy look.
The top polka dot layer is only stitched around the perimeter, its not adhered in the center and the idea is to be able to tuck a little place card inside. I’ll hoping to style everything how I picture it and share photos on my blog in a few weeks.
