Simon Says Stamp | Run With Your Heart Colorblock Card

Colored cardstock is, probably, the most versatile thing crafter can find in their stash. I’ve been cleaning my scraps bin the other day (believe it or not I love to clean my craft room – I constantly find new things to play with) and found lots of colored cardstock pieces. Determined to put them to a good use I made this colorblock card with the most heartwarming and encouraging sentiment – When your legs get tired, run with your heart.

CARD DETAILS

Once again I’ve found inspiration image on my “Inspiration and Color” board on Pinterest and used it for this project (I’m sharing that image below).

Going through my scraps I picked a few pieces I could cut into squares/rectangles, trimmed them and arranged on my work surface. I used Cotton Candy, Doll Pink, Sunshine and Mint cardstock from Simon.

Using MISTI stamp positioner I stamped the heart sentiment onto a 4 x 5 1/4″ white cardstock panel in black ink.

Next, I removed it and started placing colored cardstock pieces one by one inside the MISTI and stamping parts on the image onto then. I didn’t align them as I wanted to have them placed at an angle, just like on my inspiration photo.

After I’d finished stamping I first foam mounted white panel onto a card base and next foam mounted each of of the colored pieces in place matching the image on both white and colored panels.

To complete this simple card I added enamel dots using Nuvo Drops in Gloss White.
