Hello friends! I keep on working on my pencil coloring skills (I never knew I would enjoy coloring with colored pencils this much) and I recently discovered new to me paper to color on, I’m still testing this paper to know how I feel about it and as soon as I know I’m comfortable with it – I’ll share it on my blog. This is the first (and only so far) image I colored with my Polychromos pencils on this paper, so I’ve only used it once but I did like the process and result. I’m hoping to experiment some more with this paper soon. I used beautiful Showers & Flowers stamp set for my stamping today.

CARDS DETAILS
When I started working on this card I wasn’t sure if anything would come out of it as I wasn’t confident I’d color this the right way. I am fairly new to no line pencil coloring (or no line any kind of coloring) so there’s still a lot for me to learn. But practise makes perfect, right?
I started working on this card by stamping my image in light ink (I believe I used Simon’s Fog ink) onto the paper. This paper is very thin, it’s 80 Lb, so not cardstock. It feels smooth to the touch, but my pencils blended wonderfully there and I was able to get nice color transitions even on tiny sections of my images.
I noted all of the pencil colors I used, they are: White #101, Cobalt Green #156, Cobalt Turquoise #153, Pink Madder #129, Fuchsia #123, May Green #170, Green Yellowish #168, Chromium Green #174, Raw Umber #180, Walnut Brown #177, Burnt Ochre #187, Chromium Orange #111, Dark Naples #184.
I colored over the polka dots on the rainboots and later added the dots in using a white gelly roll pen. Because the pencil coloring covered the stamped image so well I had to eyeball the placement of the dots, so they aren’t exactly in the same spots as they are on the stamp.
I white heat embossed “Thanks. You Make The Rainy Days Brighter” directly onto my paper (I was careful to preheat my heat tool and apply as little heat as possible as since this paper is so thin it warps easily). Finally, I trimmed my panel to 4 x 5 1/4″, foam mounted it onto an A2 white card case with the help of a solid fun foam sheet (this helped to flatten the paper) and embellished my card using Pretty Pink Posh clear droplets as well as a gold glitter enamel heart from my stash.

PIN THIS PROJECT
Are you on Pinterest? I’d love for your to pin this project if you like it! Thanks!
Hi Yana, adorable card, love the no line coloring, and it’s nice to see the pencils, seems like watercoloring is so popular lately I am so glad to see the pencils. I have seen this stamp set haunt me since it’s release, and I just can’t stand it anymore, I just adore that rain boot so much I have to finally give in and buy it today, unfortunately when I hit on the link for the PPP droplets, both sets are out of stock, I really wanted to get those also, I put them on waitlist thou so hopefully when they come in you will still get the compensation for them, I don’t know how that works if they are on your waitlist? Well awesome post, Thanks.
Amazing! I love your coloring skills! Thanks for the tips!!
Awesome coloring!! Love this card!!
Yana
I love the effect you are getting with your coloured pencils. I too, have recently been given a set of coloured pencils (Prismacolor) for my birthday and I am trying to use them as much as possible to develop my understanding in how they work best and on what project too. Thank you for sharing this with us crafters. :O)
BEA-U-TI-FUL! Very — very(!) — curious about the paper you used! You really know how to stir up my curiosity!!!!!! Will have to practice patience until you’re ready to share!
I absolutely adore this image and you’ve coloured it just beautifully! I’ve recently been inspired by you and 2 other pro cardmakers to give coloured pencils a try. I’ve seen some gorgeous work lately. Now I need to go find some polychromos coloured pencils. Hopefully I can find some around where I live that don’t cost too terribly much. Thanks for the inspiration once again!!
WOW Yana, this is beautiful! I would be happy if I could ‘no line colour, with anything’ and have it turn out half as good as this, it really is awesome!
Love this card. I haven’t done much no line coloring but you make it look absolutely beautiful.
Your card is stunning. I just got my SS kit and now I cant wait to create. Love the pencil idea and colors. Thanks for showing this fun stamp being used and what can be done.
Love this sweet image and the beautiful way you colored it! So bright and happy!
I love the boots!!
