CARDS DETAILS
I started to work on my card by stamping “You’re Seriously One Rad Grad” sentiment from the Rad Grad stamp set by Cathy Zielske onto Neenah 80 LB Solar White white cardstock using my mini MISTI in a few colors of ink to create a multi color sentiment. To allow myself to do the multi color stamping I used masking technique and masked parts of the message to reveal one line of text at a time to ink it up and stamp in just one color of ink.
I used Simon’s Dye inks today and the colors are: Smoke, Green Apple, Sunshine and Evergreen. I feel this is a wonderful gender-neutral color combination.
I like to make funny cards, so to add a touch of humor to this card I stamped Octopus from the Under The Sea Animals stamp set. I used Intense Black ink for stamping and colored this image using several Copic markers – YG93, YG95 and YG99. I also added white pen detail once my Copic coloring was completely dry. I stamped a graduation cap using same yellow ink color as before for my octopus to wear and cut all of these images out with the help of coordinating dies.
I love that there are dies for the sentiments in the Rad Grad stamp set. I don’t have a lot of sentiment sets where I have a coordinating die to cut my stamped message out so I am very excited about these new sets from Cathy.
To create a background panel for my card I dry embossed a 4 x 5 ¼” panel of Fog cardstock with the help of Abstract Triangle stencil in my Spellbinders Platinum die cutting machine. I adhered my panel onto an A2 side folding Smoke card base, foam mounted die cut elements on top and embellished this card using several Rainbow Confetti pieces from Simon.
Have fun stamping!

This is so cute, I love a fun Grad card and the octopus looks adorable on top of the sentiment!
Fabulous! Love your octopus!!
Such a fun card!!
Hi Yana. Love this series of Youtubes for SSS. Glad you’re still doing them. This card is so cute and adorable. Sadly I don’t have any grads coming up, but I really enjoyed watching you create this lovely card. TFS. The octopus is so sweet!
Thank you Yana for another fabulous, informative, inspiring video, have never thought of using my stencils to emboss. Can’t wait to see your next card x
Yana that is great thank you. You always are brilliant at saying the right things, of course an octopus can be any colour you want on a card, it can even be the school colours if you want. Great TOP TIPS throughout too. :O)
Your card is gorgeous ! I love the dry embossing as well as the die cut sentiments – and of course this nice octopuss !
