Hello, friends! I’m about to start packing for a few weeks long to China for work (leaving sometime next week), but I wanted to get a few blog post ready and in the queue so that my blog doesn’t appear completely deserted. I tend to travel often for both work and pleasure, but usually not longer than for a few days so it’s not typically noticeable on my blog. The upcoming trip is going to be much longer, so I wanted to make sure to get as much done beforehand as I could. Still, I didn’t do it all.
My today’s card is a simple floral project without any coloring. During my trip to Creativeworld show in Frankfurt (watch my video about fun things I got see HERE, best to watch on your phone as video is vertical) I got to see a few new products from Tonic Studios and I was even lucky enough to take a few of them home with me (thank you, Tonic!). One of them is “Mica Mist” – very beautiful pearlescent shimmer spray; I used mine to make a background for this card.

VIDEO TUTORIAL
I have a quick music only video tutorial showing how to make this card from start to finish. Watch it below or on my Facebook page:
CARD DETAILS
I started by spraying a piece of white cardstock, Neenah 110lb, with the Mica Spray in Pecan Peach. It’s a beautiful color that looks stunning on both light and dark surfaces. I showed it on black and kraft papers in my Instagram stories a few days ago, so you might have already seen it in action.
Next, I dried the background using my heat tool. You can let it air dry, but I never have the patience. Once it was completely dry I treated it with anti static powder and stamped beautiful flowers from Simon Says Stamp in clear embossing ink. After coating entire image with Antique Gold embossing powder I heat set it to melt it.
I trimmed my focal panel down to 3 1/2 x 4 3/4″ and next white heat embossed a simple birthday sentiment from the same “Beautiful Flowers” stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. Using fun foam I adhered my panel onto an A2 white side folding card base and embellished it with a few pretty sequins.
Easy? You bet! Pretty? Absolutely! Will I be using this spray again? Yes, and I’m also looking forward to trying other colors.
What do you think? Do you enjoy using Spray Inks? What are your favorite things to do with them? Please share below!
