Okay, let’s go back to today’s project and video tutorial.ย I wanted to show how to do multicolor stamping using solid images. I picked Simon’s Dancing Fruits stamp setย for my project and I also made a bunch other cards along the way (I’m sharing some today and a few more tomorrow).

VIDEO TUTORIAL
I have a shorter technique-only video tutorial focusing on the stamping part of this card. Watch it below or on my Youtube channel.
Like this video? Please give it a big thumbs up (you can do this on Youtube video page right under the video) and share with a crafty friend! Leave me a comment too, I love hearing from you!
CARD DETAILS
Dancing Fruits stamp set features several fruits – there are solid images and there are outline images; they aren’t meant to go together as a solid and an outline, but they can be used like that for a fun look;I have two more cards here where I combined both outline and solid and you can kind of see how playful and fun these look.
Click the thumbnail images to see detail:
I used just the solid images for the card I filmed a video for.ย The technique I used requires repeated stamping or I should say double or even triple stamping of same image in the same spot so it’s best to use a stamping tool like MISTI or similar. Of course you can use a clear block and it is possible to stamp this with a block, but using MISTI makes it significantly easier.
The trick is to ink up an image using multiple, blendable ink colors.
To stamp the lemon I first inked my stamp with Lemon Zing and added a hint of Duckling around the edge. I double stamped it, I also came in the 3rd time using same colors plus a hint of Sunshine to add that nice shading around the edges.
To stamp the pair I usedย Catkin and Sunshine. These two colors mix really well together and create very realistic looking pear.
To stamp pineapple I usedย Sunshine and added shading using Green Apple, the bottom part of this image ended up being green and the top is yellow. Finally to stamp the appleย I used Catkin and a bit of Green Apple. I also stamped stems using Chocolate Brown and added leaves using Green Apple and Catkin colors.
I really love using this technique for solid stamps as it allows to create the illusion of a color image without having to spend a lot of time doing to actual coloring.
After my stamping was done I adhered my 4 x 5 1/4″ panel onto an A2 top folding card base made out of kraft cardstock. I also added a white heat embossed sentiment that reads “Hooray” and embellished my card using Nuvo Drops in black.

Hi Yana ~ LOVE these cards and your multi-inked technique. Thanks for sharing. ~HUGS~

Cute cards! When I first learned this technique back in my SU! days, it was called “rock and roll” because you would roll the shaded colors around the stamp.
Cute cards
Such a wonderful release! Whoa! You made so many cards!!
These fruits are very yummy. I like how you “colored” them!
WOW… gorgeous cards!
I totally love your cards Yana. Its too bad the pear outline doesn’t fit the actual pear stamp though. However it is still a great set. I like the card without the outline the best.
Lovely!
Wow, fabulous cards Yana ๐
Wow the fruit looks awesome. I love the same varied colors for each fruit. The other fruit cards are beautiful as well..
I heard this technique called rock and roll you stamp the first color and roll it around the edge with the second.. LOL .. But your name for it is great also. no matter what your cards are beautiful. Always love seeing your cards and color choices.
I adore the I Love You card.
Wow, great cards (beautiful realistic colours), especially the “thanks”-one !
I think this fruit is my favorite of the release. Love the cards you made with it!! All of them!
I love all of your cards and the multi-inking technique.
I was really hoping to see projects with the fruit sets, so now I’m super happy!
Lovely card ๐ Especially loved the gradient stamping ๐
Your color combos are amazing! Great work!
