I associate Spring with yellow and purple colors. To me, the combination of these two (plus green) is very fitting for Spring. Today I have a mini Slimline Birthday card to share featuring just that color combo and a few current favorite supplies.

CARD DETAILS
I used Simon’s Blooming Meadow stamp set to create the florals; Spellbinders Color Block Slices die to create the background and Simon’s Pre-Printed Sentiment Strips for the sentiment.
Follow these steps to re-create this card:
- Die-cut background slices from gray, white, and mirror gold cardstock using Spellbinders Color Block Slices die. Adhere slices onto a mini slimline card base to create a background. Trim the excess off.
- Stamp flowers and leaves from the Blooming Meadow stamp set in yellow, purple, and green using the stamping technique shared in this video. Cut images out with coordinating die.
- Foam mount florals and leaves onto the card creating clusters.
- Cut sentiment out from Simon’s pre-printed Sentiment Strips. Foam mount onto the card.
- Embellish card with sequins.
I paired this card with the mini slimline envelope in Blue Violet and it is ready to be gifted!

Viewing this card is such a lovely reminder Spring is around the corner. Additionally for me, these three colors when combined produce a powerful, magical synergy that draws me into the layers and sentiments. I didn’t think I would find a use for the “Spellbinders Color Block Slices Etched Dies”; but how wrong could I be… Just shows you sometimes need an example how a die could shine; and, you certainly achieved that!
