Simon Says Stamp | Love You Banners Valentine’s Day Card

Hello, friends! Did I mention I am on a roll? Making love & Valentine’s Day cards in my studio all day long, just because I can and just because it’s fun. In other news, my driving school is almost over (I still have about 2 weeks of studying) and after I pass my test (fingers crossed) I’ll be able to dedicate more time to my favorite hobby – cardmaking!

CARD DETAILS

I love all the fun shapes in the Word Mix 2 coordinating die set. The smaller banner shape inspired this card. I die-cut several colorful banners from Simon’s Sunshine, Cotton Candy, Sea Glass, and Hero Arts’ Azalea cardstock and white embossed “Love” on each.

Next, I heat embossed “Love You” and “I Adore You” in Antique Gold embossing powder on white and cut those out with the help of coordinating dies. I think Antique Gold goes really well with kraft, so I created an A2 kraft card base for this card. Kraft also often needs a lot of white, so I added a 4 x 5 1/4″ white panel on top.

I arranged the little banners/pennants as if they were hanging on a string and adhered in place using foam adhesive. Next, I used a double layer of foam to add “Love You” square and finally used glue to adhere “I Adore You”. Lastly, I embellished this card using sequins from the “Love You” sequin mix.
