Hello there and welcome! Thank you so much for stopping by today to help celebrate Simon Says Stamp Special Holiday Release Week (more about new products and blog hop below). I am very excited to share a simple Light Up The Town card and video today.
I am always fascinated by various house and building stamp images so naturally I was most drawn to the Christmas Town stamp set from the Advent Plus release. If you’ve been following me for some time you might have noticed I have a thing for houses (if not, check this post and this one, oh and this one too). I also incorporated a little light up element – Chibitronics Lights from Simon’s December Card Kit. These lights are perfect to adding an unexpected WOW element to any project!

VIDEO TUTORIAL
I’ve filmed a video tutorial where I am sharing everything in detail. You can watch it below or on my Youtube channel.
Like this video? Please give it a big thumbs up and share with a crafty friend! Drop me a comment too, I love hearing from you!
CARD DETAILS
I started by heat embossing a sentiment from the mini Advent Sentiment stamp set in Antique Gold embossing powder onto a panel of Audrey Blue cardstock. I wanted to have various houses placed around the sentiment, so I needed to start by stamping the sentiment first and I went with Christmas Time Is Here.
Once I had the placement of the sentiment figured out I stamped houses around it. I used my MISTI stamping tool and double stamped images to have perfect ink coverage (you really don’t need to do this, this has become an impulse for me). I also blended Audrey Blue ink around the edges of my heat embossed panel to darken the edges and keep the center lighter.
Lastly, I added a lot of white gel pen details to mimic snow. I love this get pen – I haven’t had a single problem with it and it always gives the best opaque white coverage.

Beautiful. I like the Christmas Town Stamps.
I just love watching you make cards. All of your cards are some of my favorites.
Really like this card, and thanks for the tips on using Chibitronics.
LOVE this card! The blue background is perfect choice for the gold embossed image. And your white gel on the images give them extra wow.
I love those houses! Even without the lights this is a charming card!
So pretty it looks like thin metal shaped rather than embossing powder & stamped images. The snow gathering on top is awesome-love it.
WOW your card is amazing!!!! Love how the windows in your houses light up!!!
Lovely color and details. Thanks for the video and the details on adding lights…Very Cool!
Ohhh I’d love to get my hands on those houses! Totally versatile but it’s just screaming Christmas cheer to me right now!
I loved it when you said you had lots of sentiment stamps….I am a collector, too! 🙂 And you will love Prismacolor pencils! Your card is adorable and I love the village stamp set. The possibilities are unlimited for it’s use.
Love the use of the audrey blue and how you used a pen to add the snow. Beautiful and fun card.
i like that cute retro reindeer die!
This card is gorgeous!!! LOVE the snowy tops and the lights.
I ordered my SSS kit with the Chibi lights. I can’t wait to get it. Thanks for sharing, I too like houses, doors and birds so this is right up my alley. Beautiful card!
i do likie what I see – love the blended blue!!!
You always come up with something so clever,Yana – this is deceptively simple and so elegant.
Beautiful design with the gold!
Holy smokies! That is soo beautiful, I am such a sucker for little house stamps and creating villages, LOVE this idea. I don’t think I can pick just on product as my favourite, way too many beautiful things out there to pick just one!
There are so many details on your card…. It’s a awesome creation. I cannot wait to receive my December kit to try the Chibitronics lights. And the “snow” you’ve added is definitively the perfect final touch !
Gorgeous card Yana and a really great tutorial video too. I love the Audrey blue with the gold embossing powder, and the touch of white for the snow looks amazing. I think it is fantastic the way you designed it so some of the windows light up, very cool.
You did a fabulous job with the light kit, Yana! I don’t know if I’m brave enough to try these lights, but you made it look doable. I love your finished card – the blue and gold is so pretty.
Thank you for sharing – excited to try the lights as well! Little intimidated still but looking forward to it!
Stunning! I love everything about this, particularly the colors and that light kit. I haven’t seen that and am so intrigued!
Love the colors on this card… That kit is great.
Fantastic card! I am not a building person but your card is making me reconsider that. I can’t wait for my kit with the chibi lights to come.
You are such an inspiration. This is beautiful!
Wow! Like your card. Looks do cute
What a wonderful card. Really great you didn’t have to tell someone where to touch for the lights. Really love this card.
Such a fun card, love it!
Super creative and the little light are so fun! Wonderful card for the holidays!!
What a cool card! I love how you added the look of snow 🙂 The Limited Edition Card Kit has some great products in it, but the tree layering stencil is my favorite.
Absolutely love your card! When I first saw this stamp set, I immediately thought of you!!
I can see my grandchildren’s face when they open a light-up card … thanks for the great idea and the beautiful inspiration!
Beautiful card!
That’s an amazing card. Those lights look like a lot of fun to work with.
Wow! Such adorable and festive card!!! I love light blue and your choice of colours!!!
The Christmas Town stamp set and Premium Dye Ink Pad Audrey Blue are my most favourite products from this new release!
Love this card, the colors work so nicely together. I have ordered both kits but wishing I had ordered the Christmas town set!
I love the Christmas Town stamps, they’re so sweet!
the gold embossing for the background is
fantastic. The little houses and church
make a wonderful design.
thanks for sharing.
Gorgeous card! I love all the gold embossing and the way you arranged the buildings!
Beautiful, wintry card. Thank you for the video too.
Wow. Awesome card.
Cute card. Can’t wait until the holidays
Cool looking card! I love the blue
super cute, love the color and the lights
What a unique card…love it!
Lovely card and a beautiful website as well
Yana this is an awesome card, love the lights. Who wouldn’t be excited to get this???
(My apologies if you got 2 comments from me here today. Babysitting my grandsons and got interrupted while typing and can’t remember if I hit post or not the first time around! LOL)
Those little houses and the church are so cute, Yana … with the addition of the lights, they’re magical! My favourite product from the three releases is the little deer die … it’s just adorable! Anita 🙂
Another stunning creation, Yana, I love your work! This design would be fabulous even without the Chibitronics, but their addition is making the card even better! :o)
I have no idea which product is my favourite, since they’re all really fab – that whole Christmas/Advent release from SSS is amazing, the Christmas kit is to die for – I mean, impossible to just choose one! They come in a kit for a reason 😉
