Simon Says Stamp | Leaves and Berries Season’s Greetings

As the Winter and Christmas approach, we are planning to go on a short weekend trip somewhere to Europe before Christmas and the thought of this trip makes me just so very happy. Europe is very beautiful around the holidays – everything is decorated tastefully, there’s Christmas spirit everywhere, there’s joy, laughter, and happiness. If we are lucky – there’s even a bit of snow. We haven’t had any snow yet. We haven’t booked anything yet, as there are many travel restrictions, so we will wait until mid-December to book, but just the idea of this trip already fills my heart with joy.

My today’s card showcases a few of my favorite older products from Simon Says Stamp – the Leaves and Berries background stamp and Holiday Greetings Mix 1 sentiment set.

CARD DETAILS

I had this background done quite some time ago, probably last year, I didn’t get to use it, so I saved it. The background was made by heat-embossing the Leaves & Berries image on Sea Glass cardstock with Antique Gold embossing powder and ink blending with blue inks from the edges into the center keeping the center free from ink. This type of blending creates a glow-like effect.

The sentiment was created by heat-embossing it twice. First, I embossed it in Antique Gold on heat-resistant acetate, and the second time I embossed it in white on red cardstock. I cut just the sentiment portion from the red cardstock and foam mounted it onto the clear frame portion.

I wanted to add a small pop of red, so I stamped and cut out little holly leaves and foam mounted them under the sentiment adding red gems to create berries. This is a super simple card, but very classy due to the elegant heat embossing.
