Simon Says Stamp | Keep Calm… Gnome Matter What

I love this sentiment! Keep Calm… Gnome Matter What. The minute I read it on Simon’s newest Chilling Gnomes stamp set I felt inspired to use it on a card. And so I did! Sharing the results with you today.

CARD DETAILS

The gnomes in Simon’s Chilling Gnomes stamp set are seriously adorable. I wanted to stamp and color a girl gnome and surround her with mushrooms and flowers for my card.

TO CREATE THIS CARD:

• Stamp images in Simon’s Intense Black ink on Neenah Solar White 80lb Cardstock.
• Color with Copic markers: R24, R27, R39, R89 (mushrooms and flowers); W1, W3, W5 (mushrooms); B000, B00, B02, B04 (dress and ribbon on the hat); YG00, YG03, YG17 (leaves and grass); Y11, Y13, Y35, Y17 (hat, flowers, pants); E000, E00, E02 (skin); E13, E37, E79 (hair).
• Cut images out using coordinating dies.
• Be creative and make grass by flipping the image of the waves from Be a Mermaid stamp set upside down and coloring it green.
• Cut Sea Glass cardstock to 3 3/4 x 5″. Foam mount grass.
• Foam mount mushrooms, girl, and flowers.
• Stamp sentiment using the Mini MISTI stamping tool. Foam mount yellow flowers.
• Foam mount panel to A2 white top folding card base.
• Embellish card with Sea Glass jewels.
• Clean up any marker bleeding using a white pen.

I needed something to ground my scene, so I got creative and used the image of the waves from Be A Mermaid stamp set. I flipped it upside down, colored using green markers, and used as a funky looking grass for my card. I think it looks rather cool!

To add a bit of quirkiness to my card I added polka dot detail using a white pen to the yellow pants on my gnome. Yay or nay?
